Is using a hair dryer dangerous?

I've always asked my mom if I could use a hair dryer, but she refuses to let me. Apparently, there's high radiation and I could possibly get cancer? Can anyone tell me whether there are any risks to using a hair dryer on a regular basis at all?Is using a hair dryer dangerous?
Gawd I hope theres no risks as I use my blow dryer daily! Is using a hair dryer dangerous?
wel i dont kno about the radiation thing, but i kno that you could get your hair caught which def hurts or the hairdryer could catch fire.
    no
No it's not dangerous.. You definitely won't get cancer from just drying your hair. It's also good to dry your hair before you go to bed or you get dark rings below your eyes =[ The hair dryer just heats air up and blows it out. Although it may make your hair too dry and kinda frizzy if your hair's brittle, it by no means is a health hazard.
Well.....its not bad but you could could you know just wait for it to dry
    yea it dries your hair
Well, if you sleep style or blow dry your hair in the shower, there's a ';small'; chance of becoming one with electricity (oh fun!!). lol The only damage it does is dry your hair out if it's not properly protected or moisterized
i don't think theres any problem with using a hair dryer you mom is just paranoid.
yes it's tru....tht's y i dont use one.... I'm 15 and i towel dry my hair not only is it safer ur hair will stay healthier... :)

Origin of stupid Law; Falling asleep under a hair dryer?

I am trying to find out where this Florida Law came from and the

Women may be fined for falling asleep under a hair dryer, as can the salon owner. Origin of stupid Law; Falling asleep under a hair dryer?
There are always some weird laws out there like this. Well, people are supposed to learn from their past mistakes, so...this is probably what happened:

Once upon a time, a lady walked into a hair salon in Florida. She had her hair washed and when it was time for it to dry, they put the hair dryer over her and she fell asleep. The salon owner fell asleep too, and guess what happened?

I have no idea, but it probably stemmed from an incident like this....or some people were superstitious when creating such a law.Origin of stupid Law; Falling asleep under a hair dryer?
This sounds crazy but there really is good reasoning for it... it should just be common sense but not everyone has that so thats why they make laws.lol Many different things can happen though, you can get severely burned, chemical burns(if you product, perms, color etc, which you shouldnt be under the dryer for any of these but thats a whole other issue in itself), and things you dont normally think about can happen... the law is just made to help protect the people who dont use there own brains.... as far as the specific story that happend for the law to be brought up and passed, i dont know, but i would safely say it was one of those issues i mentioned.
lmao idk but all laws come from a previous accident before

Should i stop using a hair dryer and a hair straightner?

my hair seems to have stopped growing , every morning i use a hair dryer and a straightner , if i stopped using those things and just went natural maybe using a spray do you think my hair would grow faster ?Should i stop using a hair dryer and a hair straightner?
First off, using a hair dryer and straightner every morning will wear and tear your hair. i used to do the same thing, and my hair was pretty bad off. I have a hair dryer and a straigtner but I don't use them very often.

Also your hair grows about 1/2 an inch every month, so I think if you would go natrual for while you would a see difference, and have healthy looking hair.

So if you have curly (like me and I loveee it) I use a product call Strictly Curls, by Marc Anthony. I like that product a lot. You can visit his website where he also has other hair products other than for curly hair too. It's at : www.marcanthony.com

Whats the ';cool blast'; button on my hair dryer for?

apparently, when you're drying your hair, once it's styled how you like it, if you go over it with cool air as well, it helps keep it in place...

xxWhats the ';cool blast'; button on my hair dryer for?
Well, the normal setting is hot, the air coming out of it is hot.

Cool Blast means the air shooting out of it is cold.

Enjoy your hairdrying XWhats the ';cool blast'; button on my hair dryer for?
its for if you feel the air comming out too hott and it hurts, you press it slightly for the air to come out a little cooler and so you dont over heat your blow dryer.
i don't know the reason reason,

but i use it to blow stuff up e.g airbed.

also apparently blowing your hair with cool air helps set it in place.

For the air could be cool.

i was drying my hair, while i was doing that i was doing homework well i had to get up to get a paper, so i turned off the hair dryer and when i come back and try to turn it on it won't. can it overheat? Why is it that me revlon hair dryer will not turn on after i turned it off?
Maybe it did overheat...? But maybe you could try playing with the reset buttons on the plug in, and see if that works???

Can anybody tell me which company first manufactured the hair dryer?

The first hair dryer was the vacuum cleaner! Around the turn of the century, women dried their hair by connecting a hose to the exhaust of their vacuum cleaners. In early models, the front of a vacuum cleaner sucked air in, the back blew air out, and the hose could be attached to either end.

In 1920, the first true hair dryer came on the market, but it was extremely large and heavy, and frequently overheated. Since then, thousands of patents have been issued for different hair dryer designs, but most of them only tweak the outside packaging of the hairdryer so that it looks more aesthetically appealing to you. Aside from the addition of some safety features, the inside of a hair dryer hasn't changed too much over the years. Not until 1951 was the first really workable dryer made. The device consisted of a hand-held dryer connected to a pink plastic bonnet fitted over the woman鈥檚 head. I dont know who manufactured it.Can anybody tell me which company first manufactured the hair dryer?

Should I use hair dryer for my dye hair?

I dyed my hair into brown 3 days ago at a Korean Salon. And I was really pleased about that. But i was wondering should I use hot or cool hair dryer in order to keep the volume of my hair? cuz my hair is kinda really straight and hard. And i need my hair to be softer in order to use wax. So which one should I use? Help plz!Should I use hair dryer for my dye hair?
What I usually do is have it on hot heat but before i finish i give it a once over with the cold aswell, same when in the shower before getting out turn to cold, not only is this good for your hair but also your skin :)

Hope this helps babes xxShould I use hair dryer for my dye hair?
    i love korean hair salons.

when i was in Seoul last summer,

i was just aaaalll over that place. (:

LOL anyways, you know you could just

get a dryer with both hot and cool settings.

all you have to do is when you dry your hair start

off with using medium or high [whichever floats your boat]

and than when its semi fully dry use the cool settings.

that way it'd be really soft to use wax. and yeah you'll still

    have the volume.

Absolutely ! Why not ?110v in the hotel im staying in cuba is it still possible to use my hair dryer?
If you are going to stay in a hotel you should not have any problem, because there is electrical plugs for 110 and 220 in every hotel rooms ,but i believe that your hair dryer will work fine over there, take some good conditioners with you the water its kind hard

    good luck
It can still work. But you should take an adapter and converter with you just in case since you wouldn't want to burn out your hair dryer.

Which hotel is it that you are going to?
you should take an adapter with you. Check the site below for the information.

110 to 125 are close enough, there shouldn't be any problem. (The numbers are approximate).

Criteria: It's gotta be really fast/efficient but not too pricey. Thanks! In need of a good hair dryer - any recommendations?
buy a ceramic ionic dryer. the ions is what makes your hair dry faster, it pushes the water off of your hair. i work at jc penney salon, and we have some nice dryers on clearance right now. you can use coupons on clearance items too.In need of a good hair dryer - any recommendations?
I personally love ConAir. Got mine years ago for under 20. I never pay to much for that stuff. But I've had this thing for three years and haven't had any problems.

I have a lot of hair, really long. I dry it for 5-10 minutes tops.

It depends on hair length. But ConAir is usually good for me.

Do heat protection sprays really protect the hair when using hair dryer and straighteners?

I've been using hair dryers and straighteners on my hair for years without heat protection products and found my hair was always dry and brittle and i had split ends galore.

Since i started using the heat protection products (Kerastase %26amp; Matrix) i still get split ends but no where near as bad as before and my hair is in MUCH better condition. In my opinion from personal experience, yes they do work.Do heat protection sprays really protect the hair when using hair dryer and straighteners?

Is it ok to use a regular hair dryer to dry a dog?

I hope so, I did it last night! lol

    I don't see a problem

Just be sure it doesn't get too hot for them :]Is it ok to use a regular hair dryer to dry a dog?
Yeah, unless he/she doesn't like it. Also, it's good not to go too close with it near their faces or other sensitive parts. Is it ok to use a regular hair dryer to dry a dog?
yes but of you do do not use the heat setting you will scald the skin....and if you move the hair with your hand back and forth it will dry faster..
Yes, as long as you don't set the temperature too high. If the dog will tolerate the noise, then keep it on a medium or low setting to keep his skin from getting too hot, and he'll be fine.
Yeah why not,I do, all I want is for them to be dry but I adjust the heat though!!!!
Yes! I use it on my dogs all the time. Just make sure you have it on warm %26amp; move it around alot. If you rub the dog's coat as you dry it, not only will it help it to dry faster but you'll be able to feel how hot it is getting.
yes, but please be sure that the setting is on low, also be sure and keep the dryer moving, so that you do not harm your pet.

    god bless you.

saint bernard breeder in indiana since 1977.
yes, but do not get too close close to the skin, for the obviouse reason of burning
you can but dont put it too close.. it mite take a while to do this with a regular one tho..careful b/c u can burn the dog
That should'nt be a problem. Just make sure it's not too hot.
Yes, my groomer uses a regular one. Stop if the dog yelps!
If the dog isn't afraid of the noise, and you don't keep it too close to the dog for too long as to burn him, yea, it's safe.
Yes, I use one on my Shih tzu. Just dry not to use too much high heat, it may dry their skin out.
it is but use it only with help from another person. Only use it on long haired dogs. if you have a short haired or smoothed haired dog use a towel to rub the dog dry
If the dog will let you
    yes
    yes
yes, but my dogs prefer a nice manicure or facial to a blow dry any day
    yes
I have. Just don't get it too close to the dog, and keep in mind some dogs don't like that and may get aggressive.
Sure it is, make sure you don't scare him/her to death.

My dog was scared of a hair dryer.
It's ok but not the best idea. You need a dryer specially made to use on dogs.

If you do use your own hair dryer, keep it as far away from the dog as possible and just let it air dry more than heat dry. Dogs can't take that much heat.
    ya
    yeah
yea, not too close, I towel dry, and let her curl up in front of the fire place in her bed.
Yes, I do it with my dog, but be careful on how close you get to your dog with it because they can get really hot close up.
    yes
Yeah just put the ';heat setting'; on low. Their nose and eyes are very sensitive to heat. It will take a little longer but your pooch will appreciate it.
Use it on low heat so it doesn't burn them.
Yes, it is, he might be afraid of the sound though.
Turn on the hair dryer to a medium setting, testing the heat with your fingers. Aim first for the thickest hair, running your fingers or a comb through it until it is just slightly damp. Keep the hair dryer approximately 6 inches from the skin to prevent burning and overdrying.

Is there any way i can make my hair straight without using a straightener or hair dryer?

perm ur hairIs there any way i can make my hair straight without using a straightener or hair dryer?
try some special shampoo for clurls than let it air dry with out touching it at all.Is there any way i can make my hair straight without using a straightener or hair dryer?
back in the day i knew ppl who used irons like clothes iron
a perm. Achemical straightener. Must be done by a professional !!! But it is worth it.
you could get it chemicallly straightened, although i wouldn't recommend that. if your hair isn't really curly you can buy a spray/products from boots, straightening cremes and whatnot, they make a difference if your hair is just a bit kinky, but really you will get best results from hair straighteners and blow drying
i really duobt it. the only other way is to get it chemically straightened at the hairdresser but thats very damaging and you have to go for treatments often etc.
I guess it depends how wavy/curly and thick your hair is. Even if you get it chemically straightened (only recommended if your hair is really curly) you'd probably still need to straighten it, so you can't really win. Try using a relaxing creme and straightening shampoo and condition - this will relax the hair over a long period of time, but I don't think if you have curly hair that you can get it really straight without using some kind of heated appliance ie hairdryer, straighteners etc...
Could use a special shampoo. My friend had really curly hair, it looked dorky, but now his hair is like, 6 inches long and looks cool. He straightens it every now and then after he used the shampoo.
Well I did it. Put 4 big plaits in your hair and tying it an inch off the end then leave for a few hours then take the bobbles out and it may be a tad wavy, but then the waves will go and it comes out straight. I did it last week! Except I wanted waves lol

  • Which method of using a hair dryer is more annoying?

I live in an apartment with thin walls and wonder if my neighbors can hear my hair dryer. That made me wonder if it is more annoying to turn the hair dryer on high for a short period of time or turn it on low for a longer period of time. What do you think?Which method of using a hair dryer is more annoying?
Get it over and done withWhich method of using a hair dryer is more annoying?
Don't let what your neighbors think dictate how you live your life. Have a spine!

When you have sex, do you ponder whether to have short but noisey blustery sex, or quiet, longer-lasting subdued sex. Thin walls or not, sometimes you have to think about yourself more than the morons behind the wall. It's your landlord's fault for using shoddy building materials.

    Thanks,

    Bye.
both, but you could warn your neighbours in advance, if you want.
It's nice to consider your neighbours, but using a hair dryer is considered normal activity as long as it's at a reasonable hour. I would say that what ever it takes to do your hair, just do it and be done with it. If you want you could ask your neighbours if it bugs them.
    Neither.
On high for a short time.... doesn't last as long, but harder to ignore.

On low for a longer time... easier to ignore, but lasts longer.

Whatever is better for your hair, do it. Hair drying is pretty common, and I'm sure your neighbors understand it's necessary. They also know it won't last forever (though I'm sure they will be less annoyed if it's not too early in the morning).

It's nice to hear you are so considerate of your neighbors! I wish mine were...

towl dry it. then flip ur head over and squeeze the excess water out, towl dry again, and let it dry for about 10 minutes by itself, (do ur make up, get dressed, etc. during this period of time) you should be good(:
take a towel and a brush. brush ur hair roughly to get some water out. take a towel and dry the ends of ur hair. then straighten even it is a little damp. the straightener will dry it all. good luck!
Wrap it up in a towel like a turban and then when you take it off it should be fairly dry.Make sure all the excess water is squeezed from it.
You know for evaporation to take place to dry your hair you dont HAVE to have a hairdryer.

When making paper machete can i dry it with a hair dryer after i put it on a balloon to make it go faster????

The hair dryer actually works really well. I think it's the warmth that dries it so quickly. Last month, my daughter had a project involving paper mache on a balloon, and even with the hair dryer, it still took 2 days for it to dry completely. It's definately not a 1 day project. When making paper machete can i dry it with a hair dryer after i put it on a balloon to make it go faster????
You can...just make sure the heat is not too high. Placing it in front of a fan is much easier though. When making paper machete can i dry it with a hair dryer after i put it on a balloon to make it go faster????
yes a hair drier will work. just make sure that you keep the heat low. a fan will probably work better, if you can find a way to anchor it in front of one.
Yuo can, but i'd place in a very low temperature oven and let sit at the very bottom for about 1-3 hours, depending on whether or not the paper is burning.

  • What is the best Hair Dryer & Straightener?

I'm a male, with fairly long hair, not that it matters i don't think but I dont care about the price i just want to know which is the best Hair Dryer %26amp; Hair Straightener i can get. I don't want people saying Conair, Rennington just because they use it, i want to know which is proven the best. What is the best Hair Dryer %26amp; Straightener?
    lol Sharpy,

I just answered one of your questions about hair straighteners.

I recommend going with a Chameleon Hair Straightener.

Chameleon are pretty good with straightening or curling hair. Specially if you hair are too frizzy.

There is currently a great offer on Chameleon.

    http://www.ironhairstraightener.com/cham/a>

I'm not a hair-stylist but I have been using hair straighteners since a long time. I have used Sedu, GHD, Solia and Chameleon so far.

I have never been that happy since the time I have been using Chameleon.

Suzan. What is the best Hair Dryer %26amp; Straightener?
Yellowbird by Conair, the stylists use it. Mine lasted years.

If you can't find it in the stores try Sally's Beauty Supply.

Hair Straightener ... the best is Infrashine. The guy who had made the Chi designed it. It's better than the Chi. If that's too expensive buy the Conair Professional model CT 2555. I can't give you a site where there was a survey but I'm a stylist %26amp; have friends in salons that prefer the infrashine.
    CHI, Solia, or Sedu!

    But here's a comparison chart;

Folica gives good reviews, check out that site.
I say revlon not because i use it just because it actully work this will have ur hair straight in a sec!

Is there any way to dry your hair to make it nice and smooth without the hair dryer?

Except for towel drying...which didn't really work so well, is there any other possible way?Is there any way to dry your hair to make it nice and smooth without the hair dryer?
a just natural air dry combing through every 8 minutes for 1 hour, this makes it dry and smooth but it takes alot of time. the end result is soo cute and easyIs there any way to dry your hair to make it nice and smooth without the hair dryer?
Is your hair fine like mine?

If so, I just let it dry naturally or with fan if in a hurry. Blow your hair with a fan until it's half way dry then comb or brush it frequently until completly dry. This does the trick to me.
Well your can wrap your hair, but if you have never done it before you need to go to a African American salon and have them do it the first time and show you how. Your hair is flat wrapped around your head in a circle and then you sit under the hooded dryer and when they comb the wrap out your hair will lay smooth with body and a kind of whiskey look. I think it actually looks really good on white ppl. You should try it. Good luck. Please add me to your contacts and email me w/ any hair questions you have via yahoo answers.
Use hair serum. I recommend Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum. It's about $20.00 but it's concentrated so it lasts a long time and is totally worth the money. Any other gloss or shine products will work but use any heavy gels or any sprays with alcohol. These aren't healthy for hair.
There are wet-to-dry straighteners that you can use, but it looks like you don't want to damage your hair with heat.

Buy some hair products available from your local supermarket that make your hair smooth or straight and let your hair air dry with this product in your hair. Sunsilk is a good brand for this kind of stuff.
There is this wonderful new thing called the Remington wet2straight hair straightner. It costs about 25 dollars, but it is worth every penny because it dries and straightens your hair at the same time. It's better than a normal straightner! It is less time consuming and it gives you better results. I didn't believe it either when I got it, but it really does work, even if you have really thick hair like me! You can get it at Wal-Mart or Target.
There are some flat irons that dry and straighten all at the same time!!! i.e. Remington Wet2Straight It's pretty nice
Get out of the shower, shake your hair and squeeze the water out with your hands, then when it is no longer dripping but still wet, apply John Frieda Frizz Ease (optional). then put it up in a bun and a headband. Go to sleep like that and in the morning your hair will be silky smooth!

What is the best way to dry a cat without using a towel or a hair dryer?

Your best bet is towel drying... If you don't want to use a new towel go to the goodwill and get one from there... If you don't towel dry your cat and use a hair dryer then you risk getting your cat sick...What is the best way to dry a cat without using a towel or a hair dryer?
Brushing the cats hair will help it to dry out faster. I have found that brushing my cats' hair while they are drying off cuts the drying time a LOT.What is the best way to dry a cat without using a towel or a hair dryer?
stick its tail into a plug socket! :)
you have to take the cat somewhere you have an air conditioner or a fan and keep it there tills its dry.
You do have to be very careful with a hair dryer and really a couple of towels is the best way. Why wouldn't use a towel? Cats hate the bath and they usually love the great massage they get from being dried off with a towel.
Get the excess water off and then see if he stays by the window in a sunny spot. My kitty likes that.

    MP
Good luck. Let them run around the house, if you don't mind a maybe wild, and surely wet and mad cat jumping all over the place. Best to use a towel right away.
I use kitchen towels when my cat comes in all soggy from the rain.
I'll have to visit the cat section more often!
Let them dry themselves, as they clean themselves, they will get the excess mositure out of their fur and dry themselves off.

    Hope that helps.
I have an electric heater that I use to warm the bathroom before and after I bathe my cats. I put it in a corner where the cat can feel the warmth blowing off of it but not get burned by it and I always supervise the cat when the heater is on. Sometimes she likes it, sometimes she just wants to get out of the bathroom. She's a very smart cat, she learned that if she lays on me after a bath, I get wet and she gets dry.
    Rub it vigorously.
    lick it

just like its mom will do

    lol

    jk

um just let ir air dry

wait no thats bad it can cause the cat to get pnemonia(sp?)

just hold it in a towel
I finger-dry -- gently rub with finger until fur is fluffy then comb or brush. But a gentle blotting with an old towel is a good start.

I really despair of the bad jokes...
glue it to the ceiling fan and turn the fan on HIGH
    there's actually a microwave with warnings that say ';do not use to dry pets!';

but most cats will lick of excess water and then air dry the rest of the way.

but cats like to be wrapped in towels and blankets with their heads covered. this calms them down. so i'm sure you could just use a towel.
A cat will never dry without a towel or hair dryer.

That's why they are called, ';domesticated'; animals.
gutted that i got beaten to the old microwave gag.

tumble drier made me laugh tho

    ps i love cats really
One of mine will only allow me to dry her (when she come in after sitting outside rainbathing) with a hidden tissue. So I can tickle her %26amp; rub her - as long as she doesn;t get to see that I am drying her - she loves it. Show her the tissue, flannel, piece of kitchen roll %26amp; she's off like a shot!
lol...microwave..that was funny...umm...like the mummies used to dry their cats.....lol....man..just let him clean himself..they hate taking showers...or just let him dry in the sun...lol..microwave...lol...man..thats funny!.. i imagine the poor little kitty...uuhh..never mind..its not funny nomore...poor little kitty!
let it dry without doing anything
The best way to dry a cat is with a hair dryer while the cat is still in the water, just plug it in and toss it to the cat and stand back....and watch the fur fly (oops ..I mean dry)
dunno but I do know NOT to use the microwave.
let it dry by its self
Blot as dry as you can with a towel, and GENTLY comb out fur. Brush cat before bathing.
Tie a piece of string around them and whirl above your head. They even make a cool noise as the whizz past.
wash the cat on a sunny day let the warm sun dry it natural
    Tumble drier.
    microwave
stick it out f the car window
swing it around by the tail

Better to get a good hair dryer or straightener?

Torn between getting either of the above....can''t afford both. What to get?Better to get a good hair dryer or straightener?
Get a good straightener. Thats what you need to invest in. You can have a $15 hairdryer, but if your straightener is really good...thats all you really need. Get a ceramic one. It'll probably run you about $75-90 for a good one.Better to get a good hair dryer or straightener?
I got to go with the straightener it will save you time and well last a good long time couple of months and you could always look for a hair dryer on Yahoo free cycle in your area yes you would get it for free check out yahoo groups it is called free cycle
You can't straighten your hair till it's dry. It's absolutely terrible for your hair.

You can straighten your hair with the dryer if you learn how to, but it won't be as straight as a straightener would get it.
Straightener, definitely. Air dry is the best thing to do for your hair anyways. Invest in a really high end straightener, trust me.
maybe the straightener cause you can always let your hair air dry then straighten it?
    straightener.
u could buy like a cheap $10 hair dryer and a good straightener?

Green light flickering inside hair dryer?

I am drying my hair right now and there's a green light that keeps flickering inside of it. Every 30 or so seconds, a green light would flicker inside the hair dryer and I'm not sure if it's hazardous. Is this light dangerous? Should I stop using this hair dryer and buy another one?Green light flickering inside hair dryer?
Has the light always been there?

If it is something that it has just started doing, could it be a spark from opening/closing of an overtemperature protection (heat activated) switch (usually inside the where the air blows over the heating element)?

Sometimes this will happen if there isn't enough air passing over the heating element. Check and see if the screen where the air enters the hair dryer is not plugged with hair, lint, dust etc; clear the area if necessary.

There are so many models and types of hair dryers I can't give specific repairs.Green light flickering inside hair dryer?
Green light depends on the hair dryer It is usually a red light and that is normal and if it gets really bad hot red and that is bad. but I think with new hair dryer the have a thermal stat in them and yes that can be green and then it is fine you also could call the maker of the hair dryer
If I saw a green light flickering inside my blow dryer, the first thing I would do is get rid of it. It would make me nervous to use it.
buy another one!!!! you have dust that is catching on fire!!!
i would, but thats just me.

What hair dryer do you have? Which do you recommend that I can take on a school trip (stay over) ...?

its a pink one but i don't know the brand!! it works good and it has an attachment to make the air more direct on where you want it. i think its from target and its not expensive!

    rawwrrr!!!
I have a pink Revlon from Target! It's the best I've ever had and it's only like $16 or something. I've had it for awhile now and it still works like new!

What hair product can i buy to keep my hair from frizzing at the beach with no hair dryers/irons?

I'm going on a school trip to the beach and we're not allowed to bring any hair dryers, straighteners, or curling irons. I have thick hair with long layers, and i usually straighten my hair b/c it doesnt dry straight. It dries in waves and somewhat frizzed.

All I do is take some conditioner! It doesnt hav to be leav-in conditioner it can be any kind.Just make sure it s not a 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner.Anyway, this should also make it smell very good.I reccomend herbal essences conditioner.

I am looking for a new hair dryer?

Someone told me thta a 1400watt pro dryer is the same as a 200watt high street dryer, does anyone know if this is true? And can anyone reccommend any decent hair dryers?I am looking for a new hair dryer?
You can get Parlux hairdryers. These are professional hairdryers and come in wattrage up to 1700.One other thing, bear in mind that the model number is very often nothing to do with the wattage! It is very confusing. Ignore the model number and look on the box for the wattage, dont be misled. The Parlux 3000 is in fact 1540-1760 Watts, more than enough. Much more and you will risk burning hair. They come in diff colour and compact sizes .

http://www.prohaircare.co.uk/shop/parlux/a>I am looking for a new hair dryer?
    ask someone who cuts hair
the 1400watt one has 1200 watts more than the 200watt one...

probably go for the pro one
i agree wth the sarah girl umm ionic seems to be the way to go less damage to uer hair.. as for street dryers... u mean handones? like in the bathrooms? i think that varies and even if the wattage is the same u can still vary temp wth a hair dryer and they ussualy come wth other tools. try jibere paris or better yet a trade secrets store near u bec even if u dont buy there bec its a bit more on the expensive side, i still feel they know what they are talking about when u ask them about things like a good hair dryer or a good buy, qaulity, value bec they cut hair too in those stores.. basically what im saying is ask them about the best type and what features u want in one and even if u dont buy it there at least when u go to another store u'll know what to look for.. goodluck.
    i love my revlon!
i would say get an ionic one.
Go to a reliable shop and you get the right one
go to your salon warehouse and get a dryer called parlux they are the best hairdryers around used by professionals they are pricey but will last you the best of ten years

well theres a way to do it where it will break away ur curls if u have very curley hair, and will make it wavy-ish straight :)

    use rollers

after u take a shwer just dry ur hair with a towel or if u want u can let it air dry for a bit. it shouldnt b competely wet or comlpetely dry wen u do it!!

just damp...and u can look up on youtube the correct way on putting rollers into ur hair , and that should give u a good result :)

    gdluck girl!!!
the only thing you could do would be to use a relaxer or a flat iron. Yeah pretty much all you can do.I would say washing your hair then comb through it with a comb while blow drying it, but with hair like yours it would probably just curl back.
The only thing you can do is get a permanent relaxer. I used to gel my bangs to get them to stay neat, but it doesn't always turn out right!
Chemicals, But other than that. Nope. No way.
sorry, all i can think of is to get it permanently straight. good luck :)

  • Could anyone tell me how you can fix your hair with a roller brush and hair dryer?

I really don't know how to explain it but usually after you get your hair cut the person who cuts it will use a roller brush and hair dryer to dry it out. It has like a flip to it. I really would like to achieve that hair style but every time i try i end up messing up. How do you do it?

and could you also tell me what products you use?Could anyone tell me how you can fix your hair with a roller brush and hair dryer?
I tried it last time I got my hair cut. It didn't really work. I think it's impossible. Haha. It might just because 1. They can reach the back of your head better. 2. They are professional. (I hope) and 3. I feel like only having two hands is a problem.

Try blow drying it straight first and then use the roller brush in sections. Good luck!

I need a good hair dryer for my 4 dogs as it takes me ages to dry them with mine, can anyone tell me where i can get a hands free one that i can put on my grooming table and one that does not cost the earth.Where can i get a good dog hair dryer.?
I just got a new one from hub international, they do sell the same one on ebay but not much cheaper. It is called the Metro Air force quick draw, around 拢80 excl. vat. I have three rough collies, and for 20 years I have struggled with my own hairdryer, and it took me literally hours to dry each dog. I am not exaggerating by saying it took literally 10 minutes to completely dry one dog after a bath, and she looked stunning afterwards, her coat taking on a different texture to when I have bathed her before. It works by actually forcing the water away from your dog, without the need for hot air which damages the coat, and there was a fine mist of water in the air around the dog as I dried her You can attach the dryer to a hook (which is supplied) underneath your grooming table, a wall etc, leave it free standing on the grooming table, or have the loop around your neck and wear like a handbag. There is a long hose with a couple of different attachments. Worth every penny, wish I had bought one years ago!

The hair dryer doesn't really do anything to your hair. I have a Conair... It was $80, it's good... Doesn't leave my hair frizzy. But I have a traveler blow dryer and well it does pretty much the same? It really depends on how you work the blow dryer.

Is a chi, solia or a sedu the best flat iron straightener? And are hair dryers from Bed Head good products?

I know that a Chi is all of the rave but I have also heard that they stop working. I know that a sedu is the number one best seller on folica. I also have heard how good the solia works. I have been wanting a new straightener because I have a super sucky JDL right now. I hope that someone can help me. I dont care how much they are as long as they arent like over 150 dollars.

I am thirteen years old and have super thick hair. Not curly or anything like that just a little on the bumpy or wavy side. All of the reviews on folica helped me know that some people have different opinions. I want a good straightener that will make my hair super straight and awesomely flat. Thank you everyone! Is a chi, solia or a sedu the best flat iron straightener? And are hair dryers from Bed Head good products?
I have the 1 1/4'; SOLIA flat iron and I love it. I also have thick hair and it is really long and wavy

I use to have a hard time straighting with other flat irons but with this one its not a problem I would highly recommend any size SOLIA flat iron.

I also researched on folica thats where I got mine and the reviews are so true this is a great flat iron

This flat iron will do the job and make your hair super straight and if you ever want to curl it does that too.

I use Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum when I flat iron my

    hair.

I have a cousin who owns like two Chi's but she will still ask to borrow my SOLIA she has thick hair too and to her my SOLIA gets hotter than her Chi and she says it makes her hair straighter faster.

When I took my SOLIA to work to show the girls how to curl their hair with their flat irons most of them dumped their Chi's for a SOLIA

=-)Is a chi, solia or a sedu the best flat iron straightener? And are hair dryers from Bed Head good products?
My daughter...who is a beauty college graduate and now an instructor...recommends the EndoMalano brand. She was the instructor at the fair and was able to demonstrate how well these worked, how they didn't damage your hair, and how long they continue to straighten (or curl the hair as they have curling irons too). They are guaranteed and really great products. You can email her at lovebears@sbcglobal.net for additional information if you need it. Since I am her mother and she had the products even before she graduated, I can only tell you that she highly recommends these products. They run about $150 for the iron and less for the curling iron.
idk about bedhead but the seud is the best and the solica is ok but not as good as the sedu adn the chi...well it's just crap
    Chi all the way.

As for bedhead, I'm not really sure.
i have a 1'; pink solia .. i don't really like it.. i feel like it doesn't smooth my hair enough %26amp; sometimes it seems like the plates don't get close enough to my hair.. and it's not old or anything, i've had it since july or august.

my old straightener was a jilbere (my mom got it for me) and i actually liked it better (but it just stopped working after about a year and a half). with my solia, when i straighten my hair %26amp; then sleep on it, the ends of my hair get kind of puffy and my hair looks really awkward, it also gets un-straightened more easily.

so i wouldn't recommend getting a solia. mine is ok enough to keep for now, but i'm thinking about getting a sedu when i go to college next year..

but another weird thing is that my hair stylist had not heard of solia at all (i go to an aveda salon), and when i asked her about good straighteners, she told me chi or sebastian.

oh, and i don't have any experience with bed head hair dryers, sorry.. (although i do use their products.. they are ok)

A hair dryer is a pump for air. Do a battery and a Genecon act like pumps for charge?

YES OR NO?A hair dryer is a pump for air. Do a battery and a Genecon act like pumps for charge?
nope. a battery is a source that waits for something to remove the electrons from it.

If you hold the battery in ur hand, no electricity comes out.

So it needs a circuit that pulls the electrons from it.

A genecon will also act like a source just like a battery.

It has a circuit that senses when more energy is needed and then provide more electrons in one place, hold them there until needed.

    However, if you over drive the genecon, it will try to keep up with the demand, eventually fail. So these few moments may be thought as ';it is pumping to your source of demand';

all sources that need energy, draw the energy from the sources.

If your stuck on the idea of ';pumping'; energy, look into laser pumping.

How long have you had it? Blowdryers have a heater in the back to send the air out warm, so it may just be broken.

Also, not to insult- but I've done this before, sadly- but if you have a cool-shot button or something, make sure it's not stuck pushed in!

Can you get heat stroke from overexposure to your hair dryer?

If your Blond then I think it's possible.....Can you get heat stroke from overexposure to your hair dryer?
No not yourself, but your hair yes defiantly!!! especially dead ends, fryed hair, dried hair. your hair will go throe a heat stroke if you don't take care of it right. and once that happens it's hard to get your hair back healthy and strong (i don't have this problem) but I've seem girls who do. Just be careful what type of chemicals are going into your hair. get salon hair shampoo %26amp; conditioner there the best for styled hair. Can you get heat stroke from overexposure to your hair dryer?

  • Where can I buy a decent hair dryer here in brisbane?

Ive been checking sites about hair dryers and they say that ionic ones are the good ones. so ive decided to choose one which was the, Infiti by Conair - Professional Tourmaline Ionic Styler. Model: 213X. It's net price on the website is $52.00USD.

Just wondering where i could buy it.

Maybe target? Big W? Priceline? Really don't know...Where can I buy a decent hair dryer here in brisbane?
target sound good. they usually sell conair products there.Where can I buy a decent hair dryer here in brisbane?
Most of the time, I go cheap to save money instead of expensive name brands. However, DO NOT do this with hair products! A target dryer is not going to give you the results you want. Ionic products work great, but I would go with brands like FHI, Sedu, or CHI. All of these you can order on-line.

Is it normal 4 your hair dryer to have a slightly burning smell?

its quite new!Is it normal 4 your hair dryer to have a slightly burning smell?
It's normal and there's a few reasons why that is happening...

    - The brush you are using has old hair strands that have burned or are burning, or the actual brush strands are burning (This happens when you use boar bristle brushes and not plastic ones)

    - The product in your hair heats up and smells like burnt.

-The blow-dryer has old particles or dust that is heating up and therefore burning.

Or the one we never want...

    -Your hair is burning...

Just make sure you don't leave the blowdrier long tim in one spot of your hair and you should be all set. :-)

Hope this helps. Is it normal 4 your hair dryer to have a slightly burning smell?
Yes, it's just dust and fluff around the blower fan inlet filter that is on top of the heating elements. Best to brush the air intake end every so often as it can get clogged up and overheat.

    Quite normal
Yes, it's normal when they're new because some of the oils used when it was produced are still on the motor.

When the motor warms up sufficiently, these will burn off (and smell a little). But that should go away soon.
it could be because its new, or maybe if there's a hair trapped in it. i'd of said check that there's no dust stuck to the part where the air gets sucked in, but if it's new there shouldn't be any there
no it means something is wrong. Maybe dust, lint, or some stray hairs got in there. The last time my hair dryer had a burnt smell, it shorted out and caused some sparks.
I think so, because of the high temperature produced by the hair dryer. Just be careful of your hair. Hope this was helpful!
Thats perfectly normal dont worry it happens all the time to me!
mine does sometimes, whenever i switch it too high or very hott. mines about a year old though.
I noticed that with mine after I run it for a very long time. After I had mine for awhile, it quit doing it.
yes it is normal. it is a result of hair oils burning off because of the extreme heat
no but your hair might be getting into the part that gets hot and its burning it.or maybe you got ripped off!
Thats because there is hair inside burning
Yeah new ones can smell like that. Or you could have hair in it.
Yeah i guess so, my sisters smells like that all the time.

http://media.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/s/a>Which is best to style african american hair? A hood dryer, hair dryer, or one of those side dryers and why?
depends on how you want to style your hair.

    1) styler dryer if you want to blow dry your hair straight

    2) use the hood dryer if you are doing sets (rollersets, wrap sets)

    3) i think the only use for a common hair dryer is if you add a diffuser on to it, in order to keep your hair in the curl pattern it's in when wet.Which is best to style african american hair? A hood dryer, hair dryer, or one of those side dryers and why?
I have an ionic styler and ionic hood. Never really used the brush attachment, but when I blow dry my hair I start with the wide tooth, then the fine tooth to get it straight. But I prefer the hood for all reasons previously stated - some styles you just can't do without a hood dryer. Now, I just used a regular blow dryer here at the hotel with my paddle brush because I had to wash my hair. Fine for drying, but unless you have a fresh relaxer, yanno we have to manipulate our hair straighter. If you can only afford 1, go for the hood.
hood dryer all the way. its safe to use because its not a lot of direct heat. plus, the amounts of styles that you can use with it is endless. plus, you can use it when deep conditioner - trust me, your hair will thank you for it.
a hood drier because it does not dry hair to quickly and leaves in some of your natural oils. Plus it's comfy, for all hair types---black, white, etc.
hood dryer. I have one and it evenly dries the hair plus the heat isn't directly on the hair like a regular blow dryer would do.
a hood dryer is the best because it thoroughly dries the hair, while adding smoothness and giving you a frizz free finish

What is the cold setting on the hair-dryer for?

You know the button that makes the air that is sent out cold instead of warm, what is the beauty purpose? Does it de-frizz, does it dry quicker, what does it do?

Thanks :)What is the cold setting on the hair-dryer for?
It's too close the cuticle. What is the cold setting on the hair-dryer for?
    I recently got my hair done and the sylist told me that the ';Cold Setting'; on the hair dryer is for ';Setting.';

Sorta like a hot roller, you blow your hair on HOT in a brush and to ';SET'; it you quickly use the ';Cold Setting'; button and it sets it. I never knew either, until she told me.
well you are suposed to dry your hair almost completley with it on warm/hot but at the very end if u use cold it defrizzez it alittle...and some hairdryers hot setting is very hott and some people cant handel the heat so the use the cold setting insted!
I think it's just something for when your head gets really hot while you're drying it so you temporarily switch it to cold so your head cools off and then you go back to drying it with the warm one.
It's meant to keep a style in place. After you blowdry your hair, it's still hot so it can easily change shape.

Going over it with cool air makes it less susceptible to kinks straight away.

Is it true that using a hair dryer makes your hair thin and then get bald?

so whats the difference if i use it in a low or a high level, am i going to still loose may hair? please adviceIs it true that using a hair dryer makes your hair thin and then get bald?
A hair dryer can damage hair due to heat and cause it to become brittle, but it doesn't automatically cause you to lose your hair. There are also products you can use on your hair that help it resist heat damage.

I try to dry my hair at the lowest heat level that still dries it in a timely fashion just because my hair is fine and I don't want to damage it unnecessarily and because the high heat makes me hot all over and I feel like I need to shower afterward.

You won't ';lose'; (loose means not tight) your hair from simply drying with a hair dryer. Is it true that using a hair dryer makes your hair thin and then get bald?
yes, it definitely will damage your hair, but you won't go bald immediately. the constants stress from the heat will increase split ends, dry them out, damage the follicle, etc. so if you blow dry your hair will be thinner and in worse shape in 20 years. if you use the low setting it's better but you will still hurt your hair. anyone that says you won't damage your hair doesn't know what they're talking about
    No.

It canned be easily assumed it makes yur scalp dryer and hair but it wont cause damage,

And no you wont loose your hair....if you wanna have nice healthy hair you need to shampoo and put products in your hair to keep it healthy.
It's not going to make you lose your hair. Just use it on the lowest heat setting to avoid damaging the ends of your hair.
no seriously who tld u tht i blow dry my hair evry day and i still hav my thick full brown hair. so no. who ever told u that is crazy.

I actually saw an experiment of this on ';Myth Busters';--and the obvious answer is correct--you will fry.

    ~Becky
YOU FOOL!!! Are you trying to kill yourself? Really!!!!!!!! Read the warnings in the packaging that came with your dryer! Your husband right! You can VERY EASILY electrocute yourself!! That means that all the muscles in your body cramp down harder than you ever thought could happen - hard enough to brake your arm and leg bones. While this is happening, your body will feel like it is on fire inside. Then it gets worse and finally, you die. Horribly!

ARE YOU GETTING THE MESSAGE YET?
    That depends.

If you drop it in the water while you are in the water, you die.

If you drop it in the water while someone else is in the water, they die and you go to prison.

If you have a GFI on the plug, the only thing that happens is you ruin the hair dryer.
it will be a VERY shocking experience. please don't do that anymore
you will get electrocuted. If you don't die, which there is a real possibility that you might, it will hurt very badly. Careful now.....
I call your bluff and raise you twenty. Look at the guy's profile, and check out the other questions he's asked.
you would be fatally electrocuted. That's considered a way of committing suicide- you had better stop.

No offense, but that is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. If you love your family you won't let them lose you in such a ridiculous way.

Aah Jimmy you're right! Now I feel like one of the dumbest things.

How do you use a diffuser attactment for a hair dryer?

Add some mousse to damp hair blow dry and then use diffuser. Put her head down letting your hair hang and just push the diffuser against your head/hair until you get the look you want. How do you use a diffuser attactment for a hair dryer?
You just put it on the end of the hairdryer and use the dryer on a lower setting. All a diffuser does it make it easier to set certain hair styles by not blowing your hair around as hard.

I have a curly perm, so I use a diffuser so my hair will dry faster than it would just air drying, but my dryer isn't so strong and windy that I end up with a 'fro. How do you use a diffuser attactment for a hair dryer?
to use a diffuser, you can flip your hair upside-down and put your hair ';in'; the diffuser, but thats if you want volume. if you dont want volume, then just put your head up straight and put the diffuser under your hair. make shure to scrunch:)
flip your hair and dry at the roots. or you can take a lot of hair and bunch it up then push the diffuser against your hair, both work for me!
just like normal , good luck

What is the cost of running a 1500W hair dryer for 30mins if the cost of electricity is $0.12/kWhr?

    1500w = 1.5kw

running an appliance at 1kw for 1 hour costs $0.12

so you answer is 1.5 x $.06 (as $.06 is the cost of running 1kw for 30 mins)What is the cost of running a 1500W hair dryer for 30mins if the cost of electricity is $0.12/kWhr?
0.18 centsWhat is the cost of running a 1500W hair dryer for 30mins if the cost of electricity is $0.12/kWhr?
    1. convert 1500 W to kW:

    1 kW = 1000 W

    1500 W x (1 kW / 1000 W) = 1.5 kW

    2. convert 30 minutes to hours:

    1 hour = 60 minutes

    30 min x (1 hour / 60 min) = 0.5 hours

    3. calculate your power utilization:

utilization (kW hours) = power (kW) x time (hours)

    utilization = 1.5 kW x 0.5 hours

    4. calculate your cost:

cost = utilization (kW hours) x rate (dollars / kW hour)

    rate = $0.12 / kW hour

    cost = (1.5 kW x 0.5 hours) x ($0.12 / kW hour)

Could i wax my snowboard using a hair dryer instead of an iron?

lol... no, it's never going to get hot enough to actually melt the wax.Could i wax my snowboard using a hair dryer instead of an iron?
No, it would be impossible for a hair dryer to get hot enough to melt wax. Even if it did, you would need a flat surface to smooth the wax out, and that surface would have to remain at a steady temperature.

Even if you can't afford a professional iron, you can just pick up a $5 clothes iron at Walmart and that would work fine.Could i wax my snowboard using a hair dryer instead of an iron?
It is my professional opinion that irons get too hot for the base layers of material on the snowboard's face. I put my hair dryer on low. If you were using an iron, it would mean that you would have about 6 more hours of quality riding on a good quality wax for your board. Please respect the sport and get it done right.
before i bought an iron, i used a heat gun. it worked fine, it had a tip that i could put on to spread the wax on the board.

Im sure the hair dryer will melt the wax, just try it. But with an iron you can use way less wax, so if you wax often your gonna be buying wax all the time.
maybe if you have a professional dryer that gets super hot...you should just get a heat gun.

Don't you love it when people type ';lol'; at the begining of their answer? I just love it when people make you feel stupid for asking an honest question. **note the sarcasm**
I would recommend NOT doing that. It probably won't work well, and potentially be messier than waxing a board already can be.

There are many ';how to'; videos on YouTube. Watch a few, cause everyone does it a little different.
The point of using an iron is to melt the wax to smooth it out very thin on the base layer of your board, so blowing warm air wont melt the wax.
No, it will never get hot enough. and a heat gun will burn the base of the board

How does evolution explain the need for hair dryers?

Im a firm believer in evolution but im curious about a few things, hair being one of them.

Im sure you all know that if you get your hair wet on a cold day, and youre in a position where you cant get indoors, you might actually die if youre left long enough, if thats the case then why dont Europeans or and other cold weathered people have the hair that most Africans and other warm climate people do that doesnt really absorb and hold as much water as straight hair, this doesnt make sense to me. can anyone clarify this for me?How does evolution explain the need for hair dryers?
People solve this problem....by not bathing. Seriously, in areas where there is little heating and/or no hot water, people just stop bathing until the weather warms up again. It occurs in some remote areas in the mountains of Europe still, and did in the past; most notably, in my mind, during the siege of Leningrad.

Hygiene hasn't been that big of a deal until plumbing. In some ancient cultures (like Greece), people would only bathe twice a year; if that often. While our hair may get wet from rain, our heads can still be covered by what clothing we wear to protect us from the elements already, and it can be dried rather quickly in shelters with fire pits. As our species became skilled at making fires and clothing, hair wasn't much of a necessity anymore, which is one of the main reasons we lost it everywhere but a few select places. The hair on our head can do many things that are beneficial to us, like absorb sweat and protect our highest spot from sun damage, as well as be sexually attractive. These benefits outweighed your wet -hair conundrum, if it was much of a deal to begin with before we started bathing regularly. How does evolution explain the need for hair dryers?
    Make sense, will clarify.
Humans have evolved intelegence/ common sence to tell them not to do stupid things like getting their hair wet and then going out into sub zero temperature, it would afterall only be under extreme conditions in which anyone would die, and they would probably have a disadvantage that lead to this. This fits in with survival of the fittest maintaining the population.

Europeans have dense fine hair for insulation, africans thick hair to allow for rapid evaporation which removes excess heat from the body.
Interesting what some people consider necessities. How did humans survive prior to the invention of electricity? Death by wet hair...O.M.G.
As much as evolution has being rammed down our collective throats, no missing link between one species to another has ever been found. As many people have asked, if man evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys? People are bigger now, mostly due to much improved medicines and diets. That's not going to change the type of hair you have, or the number of digits on your hands or feet.
    Its not evolution, its vanity.
Such hygiene is a recent concern for humanity.

How to unthaw frozen water pipes with a hair dryer?

    Owns Pluming Co 30+ years

Set your hair dryer on high/high Hold close to all exposed water pipes . It may take up to 30 minutes per pipe but it will work. Using any flame on ';plastic'; pipes will melt them also many house fires have been started by a person trying to thaw pipes with a torch ! Open all faucets, also open all cabinets under the sinks. Aim any space heaters at your pipes or put them in the basement if you have one.How to unthaw frozen water pipes with a hair dryer?
You might be able to unthaw pipes with a Torch ,but a Hair dryer just does not put out enough heat the pipe is just to thick for that to work.

Wrap the pipe in the fist place, and if you have any water coming out at all just let run at a (trickle or small stream)! A wet Blanket with boiling water back and forth is going to work Better than a Hair dryer! Moving water is very hard to freeze!

Wrap the pipes tightly with the blanket and continue to with the boiling water or get a torch and stay away from gas, wood or anything else that could possable ignite!! Good luck!

Elchim 2001 vs. T3 Bespoke Featherweight hair dryers?

    I'm trying to decide which hair dryer to get. The ';Elchim Professional 2001 1800 Watt Classic Hair Dryer'; or the ';T3 BESPOKE FEATHERWEIGHT HAIR DRYER 83808.';

Most important is for the hair dryer to be light and not burn my hair. I'm worried about the T3 because I read that it can be as hot as 190 degrees, yet I like the weight. The Elchim sounds great, but is not as light. Any advice?

Thanks!Elchim 2001 vs. T3 Bespoke Featherweight hair dryers?

On a hair dryer, what does the ionic off/on switch do?

I always keep mine on, just because..... I really don't know why. I just do. That's why I'm asking this question now. Should it be on, and why?On a hair dryer, what does the ionic off/on switch do?
i think its to help puffiness. i leave mine always on too.On a hair dryer, what does the ionic off/on switch do?
Leave it on. It produces negative ions which will reduce frizzy, flyaway hair and it breaks the water down into smaller particles that dry faster.

What do you know about hair dryers?

I'm looking to buying a hair dryer and I'm just clueless. My hair is what I called ';relaxed';, and to get it to look halfway decent I normally have to straighten it when its down. So I was wondering if anybody had any recommendations on what type of hair dryer to buy. I also have a big problem with frizz, so if there are any hair dryers out there that help with that issue I'd love to look into. Also I really don't want a huge price sticker on it, if at all possible. Thanks in advance. What do you know about hair dryers?

How to curl your hair with a brush and a hair dryer?

how do you curl your hair and give it pretty curls with just a brush and a hair dryer? How to curl your hair with a brush and a hair dryer?
mmmmm.......well get the brush and roll around a piece of hair and put the blow dryer on your hair?

???????How to curl your hair with a brush and a hair dryer?
use a small round brush and do your hair in 1'; sections all over holding hairdryer about 2'; away from each rolled up section on the brush, however if you are going to do this you would be best to use rollers as you will obtain better results
A round barrel brush is best,

you get a section of your hair and turn the hairdryer to high heat and put the dryer 1-2 inches away from the hair in the brush. Note: this won't get you big bouncy curls like curling with an iron will, just suddle waves.
you will need a round brush.

first all start off with wet hair and if you have a curl product, put it in. then curl sections of the hair one at a time with the brush and hold the dryer until your hair is dry. flip your hair upside down for extra poof.

My bedroom electricity went out while using hair dryer. Other parts of house ok. What gives?

I already reset the circuit breaker. My bedroom electricity went out while using hair dryer. Other parts of house ok. What gives?
Did you shut the hair dryer off??? if you left the dryer on, it could be tripping the breaker every time you reset the breaker. My bedroom electricity went out while using hair dryer. Other parts of house ok. What gives?
You have a GFCI breaker in the loop. It is an outlet usually with a button or two in the center. It may not be in the bathroom you are using. It could be in the kitchen or garage. Once you find it, one button should be marked ';RESET';. Push it in and see if the outlet is working.

Also, it may be the hair dryer was on too long and the safety kicked on. Try plugging something else in to the outlet and see if it works.

If these don't work, you may have burned out the outlet itself. You would need to replace the outlet.
You can turn your breacker back off and make sure that the wire going into the breaker is tight. Next check your outlet that your dryer was plugged into. It may be shorted. Make sure the wires are tight on the back side of it and make sure that the ground wire is not touching the hot wire or the connection on the back of the outlet. I have seen this many times. You will See a burn mark on your ground wire where it has arked. Just move the wire back out of the way. and re install the outlet.
Loss of electricity while using a hair dryer is due to a tripped circuit breaker nearly 100% of the time.

If you have a GFI type outlet (you can tell because it has a RESET button on it), then simply push the reset button as others have suggested. If you don't have a GFI outlet, then double check that you have indeed reset the circuit breaker in your main panel.

It's easy to think you have reset the main panel circuit breaker when in fact you have not. You must flip the circuit breaker to the ';OFF'; position first, and then back to the ';ON'; position to reset it. If you just try to push it to the ';ON'; position, it will NOT be reset. I have made this mistake myself.
You might want to check for a short. Also, check your hair dryer and make sure there is no trouble there. A few months ago I had trouble with the electricity in the kitchen when the microwave was starting to go bad.

    Good luck!
Are you asking why the rest of the house is ok? Or are you saying that the bedroom is still out, even though you reset the breaker? You might have tripped the GFI breaker on the outlet. You can press reset, and everything should come back on. It sucks that just a hair dryer would trip a breaker. Are you sure you didn't have a curling iron plugged in, too? And maybe a whole lot of other stuff???
you may have other things connected at the same time ,hairdryers use a lot of power
You may have too meny other electrical items on the same circut or commonly refered to a GFI over load area. If not then there maybe falty Breaker or fuse. Then the wire also may have a short in your dryer, switch or wire. Then again if you may have out door Seasonal Christmas Lights on at the same time you are trying to use your hair blower or dryer. Then this has caused outages also. Then if some one maybe using other plug-in

electrical applance the same time you use the dryer may have ,caused too meny amps on your circut. Then causing the over load to the circut. I install Seasonal Christmas Lights out doors. However my first two years doing this I had several customers that experence similar problems. This is when Lights just came on by a timer and then at the same time . A person was using dryer in two different bathrooms, plus a microwave oven on,plus a Big Screen TV. At these items where on the same circut made for no more then 14 amps . The amps being put out on this system where actually close to 18 amps. This is why I had to seperate the plugged in lites to different part of plugs.

To get the Lites working without blowing circuts and breakers.

So good Luck in your case: Merry Christmas. Plus if all else fails call a License Electral Electricians Contractor that can help with puting a Meggar, or olms meter check on your system.
Check gfci plugs . one should have a reset button . could be any where inside or out
