I have hair which goes curly when it dries naturally but when i blow dry it it which drys out and goes flat. How exactly does a diffuser on a hairdryer help and is it worth me getting one? Will it make my hair curl like it naturally does or go flat?Diffuser for hair dryer on curly hair?
It does exactly what it says, It diffuses the air so that it's not pointed at one part of the hair at any given time, this stops it going straight, they are to be used on a medium heat on the lowest speed setting on your hairdryer, grab a handful of hair scrunch it tightly and place in between the diffuser and the hairdryer, the diffuser is meant to be pushed against your scalp. products I recommend are Tigi Catwalk Fast-Fixx or Indola 4+4 Vitamin Treatment, they are both lightweight leave in conditioners, which will give a more defined curl. Tigi do a good diffuser, they tend to fit on all hairdryers.
Or you can just use any of these methods to obtain curls:
Flat Iron (Straighteners) Curls - tend to give you more of a 'barrel' curl, create a more uniform curl. They can drop after a while:

Curling Tongs Curl - Obviously you have various sizes, They can last longer, and can create more styles than with a flat iron:

With this you can also use rollers to help keep the curl in longer, then run your fingers through to make a softer, almost a wave:

Or you can just use rollers alone - This creates a more natural wave to the hair, celebrities such as Katie Price and Cheryl Cole use this method using various sized rollers (The Velcro rollers give a much softer curl and are a lot easier to put in.):

Once the rollers have completely dried and cooled off you can run your fingers through or even lightly brush to get the desired look with little risk of it going straight, doing this before the hair has cooled down and/or dried off completely the curls will just drop. The end result:

Then of course you can clip parts up etc to make it more dressy/formal. Once the curls are made, that's when you can use your creativity to make your hair look gorgeous!Diffuser for hair dryer on curly hair?
It's basically like scrunching the hair, which is suppose to enhance and define the curl, and it adds volume. If you do it right, and use the right products, I'm pretty sure it will do as you like,
