How does Ionized hair dryers help your hair?
I mean isn't ionized just charged molecules so how does this help your hair? How does Ionized hair dryers help your hair?
it helps your hair because it takes a lot of the frizz out by preserving moisture :)How does Ionized hair dryers help your hair?
An Ionic blow dryer uses Ions, which help protect your hair and avoid frizzies and fly-aways. I have ConAir's Ceramic Ionic blow dryer (around $15 from Wal-Mart). It helps my hair be really smooth and shiny.

a good idea is to look online and see which hairdryers have good reviews. see how many stars it has, and if it is good (4-5 stars), look at the reviews users have posted.

Is it weird for guys to have hair dryers in their dorm rooms?
I'm going to college in a few days, and I've been using a hair dryer regularly. I'm a straight male, and I'm wanting some opinions on whether it'd be weird to bring a hair dryer with me to college to use in my dorm. Also, would it be better to use it in my room or in the communal bathroom? Is it weird for guys to have hair dryers in their dorm rooms?
Why would it be gay to dry your hair? They have them in most gyms I have visited, don't think all the guys there are gay. If you have fairly long hair that needs a hair dryer, take it with you and get over these ';gay'; worries about appearances.
I'd suggest drying your hair in your room though, since you won't have to take the dryer to the bathroom and risk getting it stolen or forgetting it. Course, depends on if your roommate is sleeping or not, if he is trying to sleep, will probably make it disappear if you are being a jerk and waking him up to dry your hair.Is it weird for guys to have hair dryers in their dorm rooms?
Bring it, store it out of sight in your room, use it in the communal bathroom. Don't make a big deal about it or use it for longer than a girl would use it.
Most dudes will not bring one. No one will question your sexuality after they meet you. It will become usual to see you in the bathroom every now and then with the blow dryer and no one will care.
Yes, it's unmanly. Don't you know that men are supposed to walk around with icicles in their hair during the winter to prove their virility ? Geeze, here... you want formal approval ? Yes, you are still manly if you dry your hair..... just don't use curlers, huh ?
Well, I have to tell you after reading some of the questions on here about guy's shaving their pubes I would not think twice about a hair dryer.
A word of advise, don't worry about what others think. You gatta be you
What's weird is this question!
A lot of guys use hair dryers, it would only be weird if it was one of those that are mounted to a chair that you pull over your head like a helmet!
Use it where ever you want!
no relax besides who gives a ****. some guys use hair straighteners to get their hair a certain way. you are taking pride in your personal appearance there is nothing weird about that.
Nothing weird about it. I use one all the time.
well im a grl and i dont think there is anything weird about that i mean if u have long/shaggy hair i dont see why not

What would you consider prolonged exposure to hair dryers?
Do you think it can cause cancer? Am i going to die from it when i get older, because i am exposed to hari dryers for long periods of time everyday. What would you consider prolonged exposure to hair dryers?
I don't think so, it's just hot air. What would you consider prolonged exposure to hair dryers?
Not just prolonged exposure but also proximity should be taken into consideration.
Although it is not ';proven'; yet, there are many studies that suggest a clear link between EMF radiation and cancer. EMF = electro magnetic field is a wave of energy produced by hair dryers, cell phones..etc. These waves are sufficient enough to actually change and break apart molecules of DNA in the brain. EMF radation exposure depends on the device and distance from the device. For example if you use a hair dryer thats 6 inches away from your head, you may recieve more radiation than being in the middle of a room surrounded by 100 running hair dryers.
To answer your question, yes you should be concerned because lab rats exposed to EMF radiation developed cancer.
I strongly suggest you purchase an EMF meter off eBay for about $20 and test the EMF levels in your surroundings.

Do American hair dryers and hair straighteners work in Europe with just a converter?
I am going to Europe next week and am wondering if I am going to have to buy a dryer and straightener there that will work, or can i just plug mine into a converter. I have a chi and i know that the voltage is just 110, but would a converter be able to change it?Do American hair dryers and hair straighteners work in Europe with just a converter?
get a convertor, but, most decent hotels have hair dryers and usually convertorsDo American hair dryers and hair straighteners work in Europe with just a converter?
yes, at this store called brookstone, they have one and it converts into any charger type in the world, so ya you just need a converter
You should get a converter to be on the safe side or lower the heat on your flat iron. If not you could really damage your hair due to the fact that the voltage increases international
NO IT WILL WORK IN EUROPE

CHI's do not last long. They break way too easily. Don't waste your money, and don't listen to the one's that are telling you it's the best. Sedu is one of the best straighteners out there and it is only $100.
To purcase a Sedu at the cheapest price, go to Folica.com , scroll to the very top and click on Hair Styling. On the left hand side, there will be and A - Z brand list. Find Sedu, click on it, and everything else from there is self - explanitory.
For more information on a Sedu, you can go to sedubeauty.com.
I would also recommend using a 1 inch instead of 1 1/2 inch, because the 1 1/2 doesn't do curls very well.
It reaches 410 degrees, with tempature control if you would like a lower tempature. CHI does not have tempature control. That means if the set tempature is too high for your hair, it can fry.
Celebrities have nice hair, and they don't use CHI. They use Sedu. There is something called Sedu hairstyles on every beauty website. No CHI hairstyles right?
Never use on wet hair.
Also, on Folica.com, people can post reviews on products after they have tried them. Here are they stats on CHI:
72 people say it is 1 star (bad) out of out of 1257 total reviews.
Sedu:
24 people say it is 1 star (bad) out of 3814 total reviews.
That speaks for itself!
If your hair starts to get damaged, turn down the tempature.
Take a look at this.

Note how CHI is number 7.
Note how GHD is number 4.
Sedu is the top flat iron and there is proof!
Or if you want something a little cheaper but also is still better than the CHI, get a Solia, it is second in line to the Sedu.Best flat iron for hair --no more than $125 (US) dollars?

I use Infiniti by Conair, and it was pretty cheap. You could get it anywhere from Fred Meyer to Target. I got mine at Target, and it works fine.Whats the cheapest but best flat iron [for hair] i can get?
It really depends. But I suggest if you buy Remington wet 2 straight or any hair straighteners that straighten hair while wet, don't buy those please, it'll damage and make your hair frizz. Revlon works great for me. If your buying a hair straightener make sure you use a heat activated shampoo conditioner and spray to protect your hair from heat and make your hair easier to straighten, and also deep condition once a week.

I don't recommend CHI if you're not going to use a heat protector or if you don't have really thick hair. Sedu and Solia are one of the highest ranks. Sedu goes up to about 400 degrees, but Solia goes up to 450 degrees. Neither are damaging. I got my Solia for around $80, and Sedu is about $100 and maybe a little more

I don't recommend CHI if you're not going to use a heat protector or if you don't have really thick hair. Sedu and Solia are one of the highest ranks. Sedu goes up to about 400 degrees, but Solia goes up to 450 degrees. Neither are damaging. I got my Solia for around $80, and Sedu is about $100 and maybe a little more
chi
The Chi. It's only about $100-150 and it's TOTALLY worth it.
OMG!!! i have the perfect flat iron for u!!!!!! i have the same type of hair as u and got a CORIOLISS flat iron for $100!!!!! Get a corioliss it works so so so so so so so well!!!!
you need a chi flat iron. its ceramic plates. also the heat is important. sometimes people use flat irons that the temp. is not high enough for curly hair...chi irons go to about 450 degrees. the chi is perfect. im a hairstylist and its the best one i have ever used on my curly haired clients!!

Hi,Im looking for a good flat iron for hair. I currently have a conair 20.00 dollar thingee. Anyone ?
I know some can be very expensive..Im not a hairdresser,,just want a good one that will get the job done. Thanks i n advanceHi,Im looking for a good flat iron for hair. I currently have a conair 20.00 dollar thingee. Anyone ?
OMG i HAVE THE REMINGTON WET/DRY STRAiGHTNER!iT iS LiKE 40-60 DOLLARS MABEY!Hi,Im looking for a good flat iron for hair. I currently have a conair 20.00 dollar thingee. Anyone ?
I have tried all kind of flat irons and fornd the (Conair Infiniti) to work real well around $40.00 dollars and a 5 year warrnty and 100% solid ceramic.
I have a chi iron it works great and I LOVE IT it is 200 but it is worth it !!!!!
Chi all the way!
I also have the remington wet/dry one .You can use it to dry and straighten your hair. Its digital and ceramic so you can't go wrong with this one. I saw a few other people said they have it too. The great thing is you can go to target and get one and it is fairly cheap. Trust me you will love it. My hair is naturally curlly and I have used this this for a while and it makes your hair silky straight. And if you want ultimate results try the john freida frizz ease Serum. Oh my gosh it makes your hair like a dream!!!! I use it on my daughters hair too. Everyone always think that we use a relaxer but we just use the above products.... So there you go girlly get that remington.Oh yeah the ion is really good also..
I have a remington wet 2 straight one .
it works pretty well, i had some $60.00
one last year, but it didnt work too well
and it was name brand i think. and the
one i have now was only $24.00 :DDD
yupp.go to target.get the CHI flat iron.git it it works!!!!its like 120.i used to have a vidal sasoon 1 where it was 20 too.n it didnt work at all.i had to go over the hair like 10 times before it can get not even straight..the CHI works!!!take it from me!!!good luck!!!!
i have a hot tools ceramic flat iron and it really works very well. you can get that at any drug store. the best is sedu, go to folica dot com, the reviews are an excellent way to help you decide. the sedu is expensive, but does not pull your hair and my hot tools does, a little, on the edges--it cost about $42.99 and the sedu is close to or over $100.00, but worth it--guarenteed and quality workmanship. ceramic is the best --- i had conair and the quality is a deterent for me.
good luck
I use the white Revlon flat iron and I think that it works as well as any expensive straightener. I got it at Wal-Mart for around $20.
i own a ';libere de paris'; n its a bit expensive like 120 but it works great n its big 2
I need a flat iron for survival since I have naturally kinky, a bit frizzy type hair. The brand Hot Tools is good, I would highly recommend it. If you want the Best, I'm telling you, you need a Kenta. These are not cheap, $150 or so.. but worth every penny. They are imported from Italy, so you can only get them online.
Go to the beauty supply store and buy the cheap bootleg brands. Those r the best ones. Conair and all that mainstream crap doesn't work for sh*t. Use the ones for black hair. They heat up better and work better. Ceramic.
Love my Chi!!! Fantastic....it works way better than conair.....check out Ebay for the best price. Ceramic irons work best.

What is the best kind of flat iron for hair? Be specific on the brand. Why?
The sedu. rated # 1 on folica.com. I own both the sedu and teh chi, but the sedu is worlds better. Conair is crap for your hair. Spend $118 on the Sedu and you won't regret it. look at the pics on the website below. What is the best kind of flat iron for hair? Be specific on the brand. Why?
CHI, it has lasted longer than any other and I have owned alot of the cheapo ones, like Conair. What is the best kind of flat iron for hair? Be specific on the brand. Why?
CHI brands rule. They are expensive though, but that is what my stylists (and many others) use and recommend. I think it works so well because it gets hot quickly and stays evenly hot all across the iron. This way you don't have to run your hair through the iron so many times which damages your hair. When I get my hair straightened with CHI (and I have thick, wavy, long hair), it stays smooth, shiny and silky straight for days.
Chi straighteners are very great for use on any kind of hair. They are on the more expensive end of things, but they come with a year garantee, and they will last you a very long time. One of the things that contributes to making the CHI such a great iron, is the ceramic plates. The ceramic helps protect your hair from the intense heat, and help to distribute evenly.
One other thing you should remember....is that there really isn't a styling tool that is 'GOOD' for your hair. The constant heat, pulling, washing, coloring ect. is very bad on your ha ir, so I suggest using high quality products to protect your locks. There is a product that works great to protect your hair from the heat of the blowdryer/iron. It is called bumble and bumble styling lotion. It is a spray bottle that you apply to damp hair to protect from the amount of heat that the blowdryer and straightner. This is a great product, and I love it, although I'm sure you can find ones that work just as good.
What it all means.....
鈥?Ceramic Plates
Metal plates can be fine for your hair but ceramic plates are microscopically smoother and kinder to your hair. They can be heated quicker and the temperature can be maintained more accurately. Ceramic also prevent un controlled rises in temperature and allow for even heat distribution.
鈥?Ion Technology
Ion technology generates are field of negativley charged particles which break apart water molecules into smaller ones. These smaller particles can be absorbed more easily by the hair leaving the hair moister and less brittle. If when using a hair straightener you find that your hair is dryer and/or more brittle then using ion technology should greatly improve the condition of your hair.
Ion technology produces:
鈥?Improved hair condition
鈥?Softer and shinier hair
鈥?More moisture in the hair making it less flyaway
鈥?Faster drying making a better longer lasting effect with less time spent by you.
鈥?Infra Red Technology
The infra red technology seals the moisture in the hair preventing drying out due to the heat from the appliance.
Infra Red Technology produces
鈥?No loss of hairs condition
鈥?Softer and shinier hair
鈥?More moisture in the hair making it less flyaway
鈥?Faster drying making a better longer lasting effect with less time spent by you.
鈥?Rapid Heat
Rapid heat like the name suggests means that the straightenr will heat up faster and therefore use less electricity. This also preserves the life of the appliance. Rapid heat can half the total time it takes to straighten your hair. You can also turn the aplliance off between sections, to save electricity, confident that the aplliance will re-heat in seconds.
鈥?Adjustable Temperaure Control
If you find that the temperature of the iron is too cold or hot for your hair then an adjustable temperature is essential to control the irons heat. If your iron is too cool for your hair then its results will be less effective and last shorter. If the iron is too hot for your hair then it will dry the hair and the condition of your hair will deteriorate.
鈥?Automatic Sensor Control
As with the adjustable temperature control except the temperature is set automaticlly by sensors in the iron.
鈥?Switchable Temperature
The Dana Italia straightener has two fixed temperature settings chosen by a switch on the appliance. Better than no choice but not very flexible
Voltage
Most electrical appliances will work on 120V since the heat of the plates is controlled by thermostat. The only problem is that some of the appliances will take longer to reach their operating temperatures at lower voltages.
We personally tested all appliances at 120V and all appliances reached their operating temperatures.
Plate Size:
The size of the plate determines how much hair can be treated in any one pass of the iron. Larger plates means a quicker action can be used decreasing the time needed to perform the straightening
CHI's are really good straighteners. They cost over $100, though. If you don't want to spend that much, get Conair. It's a true hair care brand from brushes, to blow dryers, to scrunchies. I have a Conair straightener that can even work on wet hair. I LOVE IT, and it's effective, too. Good luck!
A Chi Straightener is the best but it can be expensive. I have one and so does my mom because they dont damage your hair as much as other straighteners do and they do a really really great job of getting your hair super straight or any way you'd want it (like if you'd wana use the straightener to curl the ends it does that too)

Does anyone know of a good flat iron for hair?
my hair is naturally wavy and frizzy anyone know a really GOOD flat iron?Does anyone know of a good flat iron for hair?
I totally agree. I have the Chi and it DOES work wonders. It may be a little expensive to some people but it has a lifetime guarantee so if it breaks or stops working [which there is little chance it will] you can return it and get a new one!!Does anyone know of a good flat iron for hair?
The Paul Mitchell Pro Tools Express Ion Style 1.0 flat iron does miracles. In just one sweep your hair in tamed and sleek. It cost me 180$, but it was definetley worth it. The Ion technology tames your hair from the root so that frizz is gone. I have horrible wavy and frizzy hair, and a lot of it, my hair is very thick, but when I'm done ironing(about 15-30 min.) My hair is sleek and controlled. And the best part is that where I live in a Humid Subtropical climate, and even though it rains and is humid, my hair never puffs up. The iron has silicon lining that act like a shield to repel frizz.
The chi is amazing lol it works wonders ( corny much?)
My friend has the worst hair ever sooo curly and frizzy but she uses the chi and her hair is stick straight
try the HOLLYWOOD STARS kind. I got it in the fashion district and they work really well. It only takes like 3 seconds to heat up.
tyr the chi iron itz kinda expensive but the results are great and fast...dermatologist

if you have short hair, it's better if you use a thin one, and if your hair is really long, then use a thicker one. I have a medium one because I like to cut my hair shorter every now and then.Witch is better a fat or thin flat iron for hair?
i have really long hair, and i use a thin flat iron.
it takes a little longer, but it makes my hair look great(:
but if i were you, i'd try both just to be sure.
help me?
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
it all depends on your hair. if you have that thicker hair then a fat flat iron will be better. if not, then go for a thin flat iron.
thin, itll take longer to straighten your hair but it straightens it better because there is even pressure and heat applied to the hair.
Depends on how thin or fat
for long hair I'd say fat or just normal
i use a really thin one for my fringe and fat one for the rest, easy that way for me
depends if your hair is thick or thin.
thin
I prefer thin.

I have to press a dress for my daughters ';living museum'; project...can I use a flat iron for hair?
i cant find my regular iron and havent even used it since i ironed a girl scout vest and melted the berber carpet doing it.
(i'm not safe with hot dangerous utensils)
she has to have this dress by this afternoon. will it work?I have to press a dress for my daughters ';living museum'; project...can I use a flat iron for hair?
I doubt that will work on an entire dress.... I use my flat iron for the cuff of my jeans from time to time....
Worst case, just toss it in the dryer with two dry bath towels and 1 damp wash cloth... works like a charm!I have to press a dress for my daughters ';living museum'; project...can I use a flat iron for hair?
It would depend on the material - if it's cotton (and therefore can stand a higher heat) I would probably try it depending on if I thought it was worth risking it.
I remember my mum saying she used a flat iron to try to straighten her hair when she was a teenager and it just burnt it. So I'd assume that hair-straighteners are less hot than an iron and so shouldn't burn the dress?
If I were you I'd test it out on a bit of cloth first - maybe a tea towel? Then go from there. Sorry I couldn't have been more help; but I'd be interested to know what you end up doing!
i would take it to the dry cleaners......they will charge extra for a one hour job but its worth it......in a quick pinch i have placed a garment and smoothed it out onto an electric blanket on the highest setting and then folded the blanket over it and placed pillows over top of it....not the best iron job but it looked 100% better.....see how resourceful we are?
if someone in your house has a shower or a bath today, hang it up in the bathroom whilst the rooms still steamy and the steam will get rid of most wrinkles in it.
u will burn it...take it to a dry cleaners..much safer...too bad she needs it today

Is blow drying better than using a flat iron for hair?
i know that not doing either is best when it comes to the health of my hair but my hair is just a lot more manageable when its straight. Is blow drying better than using a flat iron for hair?
blow drying is better because the heat isnt as hot and isnt being applied directly to the hairIs blow drying better than using a flat iron for hair?
umm actually blow drying is worse because your hair is very vulnerable when it is wet. When you blow it with warm hit, it becomes prone to breakage and it becomes dry. You straighten dry hair, and your hair is at its strongest then.
neither is great
but I do straighten my hair on a daily basis and i have no split ends.
and I never blow dry my hair, i dont even have a blow dryer.
Well flat ironing is probably way worse all though i do it every time i have a shower cuz my hair ends up in mini curls. Blow drying isn't amazing for your hair either but it doesn't fry the hair follicles as quickly.
Just make sure that when you do flat iron, curl or blow dry to use some sort of spray that protects your hair from the heat.
well blow drying would be better because its not directly touching your hair and a flat iron is BUT, a flat iron gets the job done wayy quicker and easier. hope this helpss!(:
I agree with Larissa P. :)
blow drying doesnt fry your hair as fast.

What is the best flat iron for hair?
I have one by conair it cost about 30$ and it doesn't seem to do a good job. I have long thick hair and it takes long and it doesn't even look like it comes out good.
The one the play on tv during commercials its called infinity and it dries and flatten the hair, is that one good? and i cant seem to find it on the net. What is the best flat iron for hair?
The best flat iorn I have knowledge of would be the CHI. You can find them online or at a beauty supply store. I think Target even carries them now. This will cost you upwards of $100 though, but it is well worth it! It leaves your hair super straight and very smooth. What is the best flat iron for hair?
Conair is NOT quality, Also the steam flat iron is a waist of money! Cheap and damages your hair! I really do suggest you invest in a new flat iron, NOT conair! Get a GHD they are amazing (cost over 200 dollars) but well worth it! They are amazing and once you have had one you will wonder how you ever lived with out one! I have had many flat irons and by far GHD is the best i have ever used! I have been using it for 6 months now i use it EVERYDAY! 10 minutes apposed to my usual 40 minutes it took with my conair! Its great! I recommend it!!!
I SWEAR BY MY GHD honestly!
Btw dont listen to anyone when they say chi, honestly your just paying for the name! Its popular so people will pay more for it, i mean its a good iron but if your going to spend that much money Invest in somthing acouple dollars more and its results are much better!
Go to trade secrets or some store like that and look at their brands.. but i'm warning you right now: the REALLY good ones are really expensive... they are well worth it if you straighten it a lot though.. they heat up quicker and you need to use fewer strokes to get it straight..
on the cheaper end BABELISS is a good brand..
The Infinity is alright, but it's super expensive.
I had the Remington Wet-2-Straight for awhile, and that worked well for me, but the plates aren't ceramic coated so I didn't really like it on my dry hair, but it was perfect for my wet hair. It was about 26$ at Walmart.
Another one I used to have was a Conair, it had purple ceramic plates [that's the only way I can differentiate it haha] and it worked really well for me, but one day I turned it on and it just stopped working!! But for 2 1/2 years, it was AMAZiNG. About $25 at Target or Walmart.
Now a friend of mine has very hard-to-straighten hair, and the straightener she uses is some fancy expensive thing, it cost her over 100$ and I tried it and absolutely hate it. I don't know what kind it was, but for that kind of cost, it stunk. It failed dismally.
My aunt is a hairdresser and the one she uses, I also don't like. It doesn't clamp tight enough, in my opinion. My hair is really easy to straighten but it took me almost an hour with hers. It's a professional and everything... but man I tell you, don't try something professional unless you've tried it out somewhere... they're way too much money for nothing...
The one I am currently using is a 1'; straightener. It's by Andis, it has ceramic plates and it works so well. It's a little smaller than I'd like but it works really well on my dry hair, its more shiny and healthy looking. I just got it at Walmart for $15.12. Can't complain there. :)
If you can't find one that works for you, talk to your hairstylist. She can probably recommend one that will work best for your hair type.

I wish to buy one flat iron for hair straightening. Can anyone help me in choosing the best one -cheap too?
I got a really curl hair, but the problem is its too soft to work on. I am normally afraid of heating my hair but seeing the beauty of straight hair just can't stop buying a flat iron to make my hair straight. Can anyone help me with a good quality product at a best price. I really don't want to spend more money working on my soft hair and loosing them totally.I wish to buy one flat iron for hair straightening. Can anyone help me in choosing the best one -cheap too?

Good question Betty. You need to know about different types of flat iron available in the market with the price range. Please check http://www.flatironexperts.com, here you will find different types of flat iron available. Also look for hair care products that helps to maintain your hair strength. I hope this will help you.
Good luck on flat iron shopping.
The instyler works great! go to getinstyler.com and you can order one. :) they are 60.00 each but you can go to ebay.com and buy a new one for about 30.00-50.00 it just depends but they are so awsome :)
the chi hair straightener is about 100 bucks but is really wrought it i have one and it was about 110 but it really does a good job but buy same product s of that chi so it could not damage your hair so it could be flaky

Some good info on flat irons, reviewed and they discuss what makes each flat iron good.
If you want the best straightner you cant expect it to be really cheap.
I use the Chi, it works really good but it did cost quite a bit.
good luck. :)
Don't forget to use a hair care product while you straighten! Heat can cause damage to the hair, especially if you're ironing. Take care of those soft strands!
I Got Mine At Ulta They Work Really Great And There Cheap To You Can Change The Heat Setting on Mine It Works Really Well
i would say the chi iron but its $130 dollars.
GET A CHI!!!
i got one at theheadphonehut.com for $70!!

What is the best ceramic flat iron for hair?
I want to get a really good flat iron, cost isn't really an issue. Can anyone recommend a good one for me? I've heard CHI is good, but I want to know if there is anything better out there. What is the best ceramic flat iron for hair?
I HAVE A CHI AND HAVE HAD IT FOR MORE THAN 6 YEARS.AND IT WORKS GREAT!!!What is the best ceramic flat iron for hair?
Like everyone said... the chi. I have the bulkiest frizziest thickest hair you can imagine! My friend used it on my hair and it has never been that straight. I couldn't believe it. I saw some online for like 20 bucks once... I doubt they are that cheap though
Yeah, Chi is probably the best, if you're not worried about price. But it also depends on your hair type. If you have a lot of hair, you might want to consider going with a larger iron, such as a 1 and 1/2in or a whole 2in iron. You might want to search amazon to look around, or a store like ';Sally's beauty supplies';. But overall a Chi would probably be the best idea.
use the chi! (#1 best selling ceramic flat iron in america)
it's a CHI. They aren't realy expensice. Just $150 I think
I honestly dont know the con-air left my cousin's hair so soft and straight
i have a conair- wet to straight it works wonders.
but dont straighten wet hair.

Flat irons for hair - what is a reasonably priced but good one.?
I have started to wear my hair straight and really love having it flat ironed at a salon but it is expensive to do on a regular basis. I bought an inexpensive one at Walmart but it just doesn't straighten my hair enough and seems to overdry my hair where the ones at the salon don't. Can you recommend one that works well but isn't too terribly expensive. Thanks.Flat irons for hair - what is a reasonably priced but good one.?
Well, there are alot of good ones, so i'll tell you the bad ones.
These are things that you want to avoid when buying a flat iron:
Below $30 (I have seen $8 ones at a store once)
Mentions anything about steam
Dries your hair
Metal Plates
You want a ceramic one that just straightens. Steam blisters your hair and damages it alot. Metal plates burn your hair.
Hope this helps!Flat irons for hair - what is a reasonably priced but good one.?
Get one thats CERMAIC, and heats up quickly so it doesn't kill your hair
I think if your going low budget, these would be your best bet

CHI vs FHI flat iron?
So i am looking into investing in a new flat iron. i have wasted so much money on crappy straighteners that dont perform i decided to save up for a nice one. i ran across FHI and CHI both really popular brands around the same price. my hair is naturally pretty straight but since I let it air dry it gets kind of poofy and wavy when I wake up. I would also want to curl with it.
Which one should I get? Please share your opinions/story.

I bought a Chi not too long ago and was not as happy as I am with my new conair. I thought because it ws CHI and supposed to be great and then it had pink skulls-super great- it would work magic! I also have straight hair that poofs when I blow dry it and for the money I would say try to go middle of the road and give Conair a try. And, Ulta has a 30 day return even if the product has been opened and used so use that to your advantage!

Is my FHI flat iron bad?
I ordered a FHI heat runway flat iron about 2 weeks ago,and its supposed to be one of the best.I used it about four times, and about 10 min after i'm done straightening the ends of my hair curl up,and in about 30-40 min all of my hair gets all wavy =//.Some people told me that it might be because im not using a heat protection spray or some skinny silky serum. What do you guys think?? Is it because i don't use anything on my hair,or is the the straightener just bad??Is my FHI flat iron bad?
i use heat protector spray and grease for my hair. you will fry your hair if you put nothing on your hair when its dry... i dont think their something wrong with the flat-iron.

FHI flat iron review?
what do u think of this Iron and tell me any thing else about it thanks =DFHI flat iron review?
Being someone with naturally curly/frizzy hair, I go through many flat irons. I have tried the FHI flat iron and I think this brand is one of the best. It's not as good as CHI, but it has good quality. Models use this hair tool when preparing for a photo shoot or runway show. They are very pricey, but it is a good investment. I would use the Platform Styling Iron because it straightens, curls and waves. I love it! Be sure to use ';Hot Sauce'; which is used to prevent heat damage. I would also use the Smoothing System. This makes one's hair smooth and shiny even when using heat tools.
I hope I helped!

FHI flat iron. would you recommend it?
I went to the salon with my g-ma today and her hairdresser mentioned that he got the most amazing hair straightner. She said it doesn't strip/fry your hair like other straightners and that it eliminates frizz/breakage. So now I'm on the website (http://www.fhiiron.com/index.php) thinking of buying one. Is it the official site btw?
So for people who own/owned one. Would you recommend it? Details are great. thanks =]FHI flat iron. would you recommend it?
this is actually the site:
http://www.fhiheat.com/
but you can also buy them from folica:
http://search.folica.com/search?p=Q%26amp;ts=c鈥?/a>
It really depends on the texture of your hair, all the irons they make are fantastic though. If your hair is pretty thin, you can settle for the regular FHI iron, which will run you roughly 100-130 dollars. If you have really thick hair, or are planning to use the iron for a long time, and share with people who have thick hair, you should get the FHI Platform, which works on all textures of hair, but is more expensive (about 140-200).
Ask your hairdresser for advice, it seems like she knows what shes doing :)
Also look at Solia and Sedu Flat Irons depending on your hair.
good luck!FHI flat iron. would you recommend it?
Make sure you look for an iron that has pure ceramic plates. Most irons only have a ceramic coating, which can chip and peel over time and use. One flat iron that has pure ceramic plates is the FHI Runway:
http://www.weddingproductreports.com/FHI_Runway_Pure_Ceramic_Styling_1_Flat_Iron_-_Product_Report_%26amp;_Consumer_Feedback.html
Ceramic plates allow the flat iron to recover heat quickly, which means you can apply it directly to damp hair and it will maintain constant heat.
The FHI Runway is advertised at $400 on the above site, but when you click the link it looks like it's on sale for $271 at the moment.

Is there a difference between a 1'; and a 1 1/4'; fhi flat iron?
does it make a difference other then cosmeticIs there a difference between a 1'; and a 1 1/4'; fhi flat iron?
How wide the actual flat iron plates are. If you have shorter hair, or just short layers it is monumentally easier to straighten hair is the iron is thinner. Thin irons are also useful for fringe and bangs. If you have a lot of hair, or just thick hair, it may be wiser to go with the wider iron.
A quarter of an inch really isn't that much though, so unless you have super short hair either one should work fine.Is there a difference between a 1'; and a 1 1/4'; fhi flat iron?
If your hair is thick...you need the 1 1/4 iron. If you have thin hair the 1'; works better.
I have thick hair and learned this by purchasing the wrong iron at first.
yes 1/4 inch and yes it does make a difference I luv 1 inch and can't stand 1 and 1/4 inch, it's too hard to work with

How good is an fhi flat iron compared to a chi iron?
I would try the Chi turbo 2';. I have past the shoulder wavy hair and it works so good.

How well does the fhi flat iron work?
it works great and is very quick andeasy to useHow well does the fhi flat iron work?
I heard it's one of the better ones.
It's up there with the Sedu and the Chi.
Since, I don't know too much about the FHI,
I would suggest getting a Sedu or Chi flat iron instead.
I have had both,
and they're amazing. How well does the fhi flat iron work?
Get the chi iron-it is expensive but it won't damage your hair and it makes it softer. I tried a cheaper iron and it made my hair look parched and frizzy

Where can I buy a CHI or FHI flat iron?
I want to buy a CHI or FHI flat iron but from a store could you tell me what store? BRITISH COLUMBIA OR USAWhere can I buy a CHI or FHI flat iron?
At a salon. Try Regal.Where can I buy a CHI or FHI flat iron?
I don't know about the UK, but if you're goign online, Folia is a great place to order from- they have really good prices, and they're authenticated to sell them online, so you know you're getting the real thing. They sell CHI and FHI irons, along with GHD, Sedu and Solia as well, so you can compare them side by side:
Chi:
http://search.folica.com/search?p=Q%26amp;ts=c鈥?/a>
FHI:
http://search.folica.com/search?p=Q%26amp;ts=c鈥?/a>
JCPenny, i noticed, doesn't sell CHI but rather i.CHI, which is sketchy to me, so it's an option, but i wouldn't totally recommend it if staying away from it is possible.
Ulta offers a great selection of CHI and FHI irons, along with Sedu in stores, and the professionals at the salons are normally happy to help you find the right iron for yourself. Unfortunately, Ulta doesn't sell many of their higher end irons online, so you have to go in stores. You can find a store near you by using their store locater
http://stores.ulta.com/store/
Target actually sells both CHI and FHI irons, but they offer only one model of each brand in stores. The FHI is pink, i believe, and the CHI is the regular classic black one with yellow/gold plates.
before you buy an expensive iron though, always make sure that the seller is authenticated to sell the irons, especially on eBay or Amazon, because if they aren't most likely it's going to be a fake.
good luck on your search! :)
I'm in the family of hairstylists, so yeah (:

Anyone here own a FHI flat iron? What do you think?
I just spent $100 on a professional FHI flat iron, and I'm a wee bit nervous. I've never invested this much in an iron, but I felt it was the right time to do it since I've only used mediocre products in the past. If you own a FHI, what do you think? It had good reviews, but I want to hear real stories. Is it worth it to have a professional straightener?Anyone here own a FHI flat iron? What do you think?
GREAT iron. you paid cheap for a good iron i paid i think 200 or around that for mine!
And yes it is worth it to have a professional straightener, because cheap irons break Very easily by the plates break off, they fry your hair the first time you straighten it, they don't heat up enough or they heat up TOO much , and your hair gets caught in the plates, UGH!!
I have had my FHI for about 2 years and it still works without a problem, but some of them go higher in heat than others, but same in quality!
So i guarantee you that your FHI straightener will work wonders with your hair!
REMEMBER to use heat protector and i also use chi silk infusion make your hair silky and soft!!
ps - if the iron you bought wasn't what you were looking for or breaks which i doubt - try the chi irons or chi products i use the products and the irons and they are GREAT!!!! Just as good as the FHI.
good luck with your hair - hope this helped! :)Anyone here own a FHI flat iron? What do you think?
Absolutely worth it and since you only spent $100 you are doing good. I paid about 300 for one.
Anyhow, here is the deal. When you buy a less expensive one you may not notice the difference at first, however with time you will start to notice not only the damage to your hair but the wear and tear and texture marks on that inferior flat iron. So then you toss it and get another and eventually spend just as much as you would on a professional straightener. I really like FHI and think you will too. The only thing that I would suggest is that by the price you say you paid, you may not have gotten one with a heat setting adjuster and that is important because you want to use the least amount of heat needed to style your hair. In any event, you made a good investment.

Are FHI flat irons a good flat iron?
i thinking about getting the technique pink 1 inchAre FHI flat irons a good flat iron?
I never know yes it probably is. If the flat iron is at least 40 or 50 dollars then get it. If its cheaper it may not be the best one to get. I have a CHI it is amazzingg gives me straight, neat, silky hair! LOVE IT!Are FHI flat irons a good flat iron?
Ceramic is ok but the new top of the line straighteners use ions to keep your hair smooth and moisturized. Also takes less time to straighten. I have a Bioionic straightener and it's much better than my old ceramic one.
All irons are good.
It's the operators that cause all the trouble.
as long as the plate things are ceramic...
