Dropped Hair-dryer into the toilet, can I still use it?

Um, this is kinda embaressing but I dropped my hair dryer into the toilet. I put it outside to air dry for 2 days and it seem dry now... I don't know if I can still reuse it... without being electrified that is... Anyone know?Dropped Hair-dryer into the toilet, can I still use it?
I wouldn't. It might blow poopy at you!!! LOL but I've done worse. I dropped a bible in the toilet!!! :pDropped Hair-dryer into the toilet, can I still use it?

i suggest you dont do that becuase you might get eletricfied so just buy another one

A hair dryer uses 1500 W of power from a source of 120V, what is the current?

Simple

Power = Current * Voltage

Therefore

1500 W = I * 120 V

I = 12.5 A

cheersA hair dryer uses 1500 W of power from a source of 120V, what is the current?
power= Voltage * Current = Voltage ^2 /.Resistance = Current ^2 *resistance

Here we can use current -voltage relation.

Power = 1500 w, Voltage = 120 V. so, current= power/voltage = 1500/120=12.5 A.

** just to remind you, if u are working with AC source, then do not forget to work with r.m.s value.

if your given data was for AC source and it was magnitude of voltage, then Vrms=Vmax /sqrt(2)=120/1.414=84.87v

then current (rms) = power/voltage=1500/84.87=17.67A and converting it to magnitude=rms value * sqrt(2)=17.67*1.414=25A

A 304/kwh, what does it cost to generate the 1200-w hair dryer for 1 h?

questions a bit vague but if you leave the hairdryer on for 1 hour then it uses 1.2 kWh. ( assume that this is the actual load and not the load prior to efficiency)

nb kVAh is similar to kWh but phase angle voltage to current causes an increase in the power consumtion (power factor usually nominal in the region of 0.8-0.95 (kVA=kW/pf) in the case of a hair dryer then this is negligible ie 1 (unity)A 304/kwh, what does it cost to generate the 1200-w hair dryer for 1 h?
Your question is a bit confusing, but I'm assuming you mean 1KWh costs 304 units (cents?). Leaving a 1200W hair dryer on for 1 hour consumes 1.2KWh. This means:

1.2*304=364.8 units.

Anyone know if mid-range hotels in Shanghai provide hair-dryer, towels and basic toiletries?

And how is the weather there at this time of the year? I'm visiting Shanghai next week and would like to travel light, but I can't do without a hair-dryer (very stubborn curls!!).

Appreciate your help. Thanks! :)Anyone know if mid-range hotels in Shanghai provide hair-dryer, towels and basic toiletries?
If you're speaking of a ';mid-range'; hotel as according to US travel sites, then yes - they're very well provided-for and will be happy to accommodate to your needs.

Although, good luck with your curls this time of year - June is usually ';plum rain'; season, and it's weeks of heat, humidity and rain (all 3 at the same time!). If you're lucky, you might get 1, or 2 out of three... But it's still June, so temperatures won't go over 100 degrees like it usually does in July and August.

All in all, enjoy yourself and don't be afraid to bargain to absolutely ridiculous prices! Check out Shanghaiist.com too, they're fantastic for the going-on's around town. Have fun!!Anyone know if mid-range hotels in Shanghai provide hair-dryer, towels and basic toiletries?
Yes they have hair dryers. This time of the year is their rain season. Don't get fooled by rain season, it is still quite hot on non-rain days.

  • I need to have my hair dry by 6:00 and my hair dryer is broken....HELP?

okay so i took a shower about a half hour ago and i always blow dry then straighten my hair, my blow dryer is broken and it's 4:18 right now, and it needs to be completely dry by 6:00.

Any advice on how to have it dry by then?! It's probably about 1/4 dry already.I need to have my hair dry by 6:00 and my hair dryer is broken....HELP?
Do you have a box fan ? If so dry your hair in front of the fan . A ceiling fan works too . I need to have my hair dry by 6:00 and my hair dryer is broken....HELP?
Throw two towels in your dryer on high heat, after about 10 min take one out and put it on your head. When you feel it cool down, take out the other one and put that one on your head. Put the cool one back in the dryer and so on. Keep rotating them and you will feel like you're at a spa :-)
So this sounds crazy but i would turn on the heat %26amp; lay my head down on one of the heater vents %26amp; let it dry it.

But just as easy go buy one or else go to your neighbors %26amp; burrow theres or have a friend let you use theres.
ummm id suggest just keep drying it with a fresh towel... it'll dry by 6... probably around 5-5:15 you can straighten it on a low heat setting
Quick! Turn on the oven %26amp; put your head in!
go to the closes wal-mart or drug store and buy one ?

What are the bad effects of hair dryer? does it make you bold?

It can ruin your hair. But if you put hair serum and mousse on it first, it protects it!What are the bad effects of hair dryer? does it make you bold?
How could a hair dryer possibly make you BOLD??What are the bad effects of hair dryer? does it make you bold?
if it did make you bald there would be lot's of bald women running around. It can dry your hair out and cause frizzies...but no baldness.
    does not make you bald
It would dry your hair out, but a good conditioner would block out that effect. A hair dryer would not make you bald.
No, a hair dryer (or the use of) will not make you go bald. The heat from the dryer does damage the hair, but not severely enough to make you go bald. :)
No it doesn't, and the amount of damage it does to the hair is also related to what else you do to you hair (color, perm, relaxer etc). If you use a blow dryer on a regular basis, use a conditioner for dry/damaged hair when you wash your hair, it will help keep the damage to a minmum.
if u use a hair dryer all the time

your hair mite turn a litle red
I am a cosmetology student so I know the answer to this for sure. The only damage that a hair dryer does to your hair is slightly dry it out. The best thing you can do to help avoid this is use good professional shampoo, conditioner and styling products. Make sure you are using a thermal protector in your hair and work it through you hair really well before you blow dry and ALWAYS blow dry down the strand of hair!!!! Never upwards! If you blow up the hair shaft you destroy the cuticle (outer layer) of the hair and it can't be repaired. If you do these things the negative effects of blow drying will be minimal. :] Hope this helps you!!:]
it will dry out ur hair and all but it wont make u BALD!.

Does running my hair dryer outside cause global warming?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_warm/a>Does running my hair dryer outside cause global warming?
wherever you run your hair dryer causes global warming. looks like your screwed.Does running my hair dryer outside cause global warming?
    no
no way. global warming is occuring from mroe major reasons. like pollution and and stuff like that.
    Yes --- and

The moon is made of green cheese

    Blondes are really smart

George W is the best president ever

Brittany won the best mom of the century award

    and

    Sanjaya has the coolest hair!
that's not the type of thing that causes ozone problems, and one little hair dryer isn't going to do it, but one the size of the biggest telescope out there, might be another story
wow is this even real? why do people waste time on yahoo answers with questions like this. i have said it before and will say it again to everyone who posts a useless topic or is just making fun of the current environmental situation. global warming is about pollution and extreme changes in temperature and weather it is not just warming. everyone must read and get their facts together about global warming before asking questions like this. i hope you werent serious with this question but yes anything that uses energy contributes to global warming, please research the topic through an online search engine such as yahoo.
Like what probably been said If you run off any non renewable resource yes but only from the source of the power. If your running off solar power or another renewable resource ,you'd be green as grass on your back yard.

you'd probably have to be using one heck of a hair dryer ( a low eer rating air conditioner at full blast with freon based cooling ) for the 5 min you dry your hair to see any major effect.
I'll global warming your hair dryer outside :P

Global warming is caused by an excess of carbon dioxide and methane in the atmosphere produced by humanity, by the clearing of forests, the use of cars and energy. So I guess the energy you use to run a hair dryer could contribute in a small way.

My suggestion use the sun it does just as good a job as a hair dryer.
Depends if it's on blow or suck! ???:)
not if you run it upside down
    One question, ';Why would you be operating a hair dryer outside?';

Ask Al Gore, he would probably cringe to hear about that one.
It does not cause global warming, but it does contribute to because you are probably using electricity generated by fossil fuel burning power plants. This is the case regardless of if you use it indoors or outdoors though!
i hope so because its hella cold here
Not cause, but contribute. BIG difference. ~
No,but its better to dry your hair using the sun heat instead of hair dryer.
    No.
it could, of the earth was 12 ft wide, but using the electricity causes warming anyways
Ask Al Gore. He invented the hair dryer!
no bcuz it aint doin **** to planet earth plus were all gonna die soon
hah i don't know but what difference does it make we'll be gone before the ozone is depleted
No, it is supposedly caused by CO2 emitions, but that is crap. It is just a fluxuation of earth's climate. Besides, there is no Global Warming, it peaked in 1998, and the earth has been cooling ever since.

  • Why is an ionic hair dryer better than a regular one?

Ionic hair dryers are supposed to help dry your hair faster and help reduce ';fly aways';. They're also supposed to help make your hair shinier and softer. I've used both and I don't notice a difference. If you keep your hair trimed regularly and condition it with a good conditioner it'll look good and stay healthy. Also using ceramic tools and brushes helps. :)Why is an ionic hair dryer better than a regular one?

Extensive tests from the Hair Dryers Institute indicate the expected expectancy of life for a $35.00 hair dryer is 3 years 8 months 11 days 3 hours and 19 minutes.

The main reason could be the circuit break of On/Off button with the control panel of your dryer, go to some electrician or if you have DIY tools then open the screws and find the reason and fix it, and if it is in warranty go to the shop from where you purchased it, they will surely fix this issue.Hair dryer is not turning off until i pull the plug.. what could be wrong n how to fix it?
throw it away, buy a new one

you'll find out that the price of the switch is half the price of a new oneHair dryer is not turning off until i pull the plug.. what could be wrong n how to fix it?
the contacts inside the on/off switch have welded theirselves together.sometimes it is possible to disassemble and lightly file the contact points.this will remedy the welded switch for awhile.carbon builds up on the contacts, creating high resistance.when the resistance gets to high, the flow of electricity jumps or arcs and heats the contact surfaces making them bond together.if the switch is a sealed switch do not attemp to repair it.replacement switches are available through electronic suppliers like http://digikey.com

most hair dryers ive seen have a simple unsealed switch.if you attempt this easy enough job, make double sure it is unplugged.

I want my hair to be wavy...but not like poofy...lol HELP ME PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE :) thanksHow do you use a hair dryer diffuser?!?!?
While the hair is still wet put product in your hair. The best way to use a diffuser is to cup sections of your hair in your hand and place in front of the diffuser. Keep doing this until your hair is completely dry. It also helps to scrunch with your hands at the same time. I don't know how else to explain this to you. I hope that this helps. And make sure you use hairspray to keep it in place.

HELP ME get rid of my oily hair or at least find a shampoo which keeps my hair dryer for longer!?

No matter what i do my hair is always oily even when i dye my hair and im a bleach blonde so you think it would dry my hair out but no it doesnt. I have tryed baby powder and find it only works for around a few hours. i have even stopped using conditioner does anyone know a good shampoo for oily hair!!!HELP ME get rid of my oily hair or at least find a shampoo which keeps my hair dryer for longer!?
    6 tips!:

    1. Use shampoo and conditioner made especially for oily hair

    2. When washing hair, only use lukewarm water, or even cold water. Hot water stimulates the glands in your scalp and makes your hair oilier faster.

    3. You can use talcum powder or corn starch. Bumble And Bumble has a product called hair powder in colours for blondes, redheads, brunettes and asians. What it does is soak up the oil and grease. Sprinkle into your oily hair at the roots and leave for a few seconds, then work into the roots and scalp with your fingers, then comb it through your hair. Hair should be not as greasy, but instead it should be shiny.

    4. The pillow you use can also make your hair greasier. If your pillowcase is greasy, flip it over!

    5. Try an Acidic Rinse. The juice of two lemons mixed with a quart of good water such as distilled water makes a great rinse, and this can really help to reduce the oil on your scalp. Also, vinegar often makes a really good rinse, though it does not smell as good as the lemon! It is better to use white vinegar and if you mix it with one cupful of water, it should work perfectly. The vinegar acts as a tonic for the scalp and it clears any remaining soap away from the scalp, which can often cause oily hair to be weighed down.

    6. You can also make your own shampoo. Add a teaspoon of Aloe Vera gel and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to your regular shampoo [one that's as mild as possible]. It's best to use of a cup of your normal shampoo and blend all the ingredients together. After you have blended it all, wash your hair with it and then rinse thoroughly.

    Hope that helped =]

xxpeaceHELP ME get rid of my oily hair or at least find a shampoo which keeps my hair dryer for longer!?
You cant get rid of oily hair because it is from inside the body.

What i can suggest is some good shampoos and conditioners.. Dont stop conditioning your hair.. It is essential to condition your hair even is they are oily..

Try Herbal essences drama clean refreshing shampoo and conditioner or Garnier fructis daily care range..

    They will work for you!

Is it bad to not use a hair dryer?

no,it's actually healthy not to use a blow dryer on your hairIs it bad to not use a hair dryer?
No! It's actually healthier for your hair if you let it air dry instead of drying it! But if you do let it air dry, put some leave in conditioner in your hair (I recommend using Dove). Is it bad to not use a hair dryer?
its not bad not if you stay to like 10 minutes or more on your hair you supposed to blow dry for like 8 and a half minutes but idk if ur hair is sensitive then no dont use it
Hair dryers are better than flat irons.

Diffusers which attach to the hair dryer helps spread out the hot air coming from the blow dryer so it's not concentrated in one area.

Hair dryers are that bad though the heat can cause dryness and some damage.
    let it air dry
    It depends.

It is healthy for your hair to not blow dry it but rather to let it dry naturally for two reasons:

-your hair shafts will not be disrupted

-you have less of a chance of developping split ends

    BUT there is an exception:

if you wash your hair right before going to bed i recomend blowdry it(perhaps on the cool or warm setting) because the ';friction'; caused by your hair rubbing against your pillow can damage your hair
It is healthier because the blow dryer can fry your hair and give it split ends!

    just like the straighting iron

  • Anyone tried the toni & guy digital palm hair dryer?

I would like to hear from any of you that have used or got the toni %26amp; guy digital palm hair dryer, Is it any good?Anyone tried the toni %26amp; guy digital palm hair dryer?
no, but ive tried a brevil toaster..

Which hair product is worse? The hair dryer? Or the straightener?

The question is above.Which hair product is worse? The hair dryer? Or the straightener?
straightener i would think.Which hair product is worse? The hair dryer? Or the straightener?
They are both horrible, but in different ways. Most people do both and blame all of it in the straightener. Blow drying hair removes 90% of hair's moisture, leaving it dry, brittle, and prone to damage by blasting it with heat and high speed winds. The outside layer of the hair shaft is called the cuticle and is like shingles on a roof. You want this layer to lay flat down, but a blow dryer blows it open. This means that your hair's natural oils that keep it healthy are sucked out when you shampoo. This causes breakage more than anything short of chemicals. Straighteners rip at the cuticle and cause breakage.

But breakage means that the hair has snapped, it is not necessarily damaged. You can use a thermal styling spray when you use a flat iron, but that doesn't do anything when you blow dry. I never blow dry and I encourage my clients to avoid it as well, they always see a huge improvement in the condition of your hair. But the damage is also combined with using really harsh drugstore shampoos and conditioners. If you use salon quality shampoo and conditioner, and wash the conditioner out in cold water it will protect your hair.

There are preventative measures for straightening, but not for blow drying, So considering this blow drying has the potential to be much worse, it just depends on the other factors like chemicals, shampoo and conditioner, temperature of the flat iron, products that you use, etc.
Hey are both equally bad. The straightener had direct contact with your hair and causes all over damage and it typically has a very high heat setting. The hair dryer dries you're hair at an uneven rate and results in fried ends while the roots are still wet.

Tip: if you're debating which one to use I would suggest getting a product from the store that help protect your hair from heat. then start off by towel drying your hair focusing more on the roots and working your way down. Put the product of choce in hair. The blow dry your root and straighten your ends. You can also look into getting the wet to dry hair straightener by conair and use it on a lower heat setting and doing smaller sections of hair at a time and only running the straightener over you're hair a few times. Then allow your hair to cool off and run it over a few mire times if needed.
First off Amber Marie isn't a hair stylist. If she was she would not be copying and pasting stuff she finds from google. She does it all the time. Second I agree with binka. She taught me how to do my hair with both and the damage from my hair was caused because i didn't know how to properly use the tools or know what product to use for which tool. Don't use any product, shampoo, or conditioner that uses any type of Alcohol. Most cheap products use some form of it. If you know how to use the tools or what products to use then you won't damage your hair. Why do you think good stylist can use all those tools on your hair and not damage your hair or make it look dryed out and frizzy like Marie claimed that hair dryer to do.
Neither if you have the right products. I use both but my hair isn't damaged because I know how to use both and what products to use. Even my stylist says that my hair doesn't even look like I use styling tools on it. Thats because I don't have damage to my hair like most people do. Most people damage their hair with those tools because they don't know how to use them properly or what products are good. For example with the hair dryer you should only blow your hair in a downwards angle and use your fingers not a brush and use a thermal lotion for your hair. If you blow it all over the place or use a brush that will cause frizzieness and split ends.
the hair dryer. a straightener may give you better results and thus appear to be better for your hair, but it is much hotter and has direct contact with your hair.

the dryer on the other hand has a cool setting that is actually quite healthy for your hair. use it every time to seal the cuticle.
The Straightener Is The Worst Product Use ( The Modern One )

It Will Crimp Your Hair, Make it Puffy In Water , Not So Straight Edges, And Will Burn Your Ends/Hair....
I believe is both because the straightener has more heat than a blow dryer and you out it in your hair while the blow dryer makes hair frizzy and knotty.
Straighteners are usually hotter, and come closer to your hair, so Id say the straightener is worse. But some blow driers aren't that much better.
    the straightener by far,

because that one settles on your hair longer than they dryer..

ann it gets way hotter too.

but you can buy products from the store to make it so it doesn't damage your hair.(:
straightner is worse for your hair

hair dryer gives it a more natural look

i say hair dry it then straighten the edges for a better look :D
ii beleive the hair dryer becuz for me it causes frizz and other but wit a flat iron jus get a heat protection spray or cream and staighten away LoLz
Straightener, it is much more concentrated. You shouldn't use either on a daily basis.
straighter has more straight contact with ur hair
blow dryer because it frizzes it and it wont go away
    the straightener no doubt

Do you have a negative ion hair dryer? Is it really better than a 'regular' one??

Does your hair become shiner and smoother? Or is the negative ion theory a marketing gimmick?

Thanks!Do you have a negative ion hair dryer? Is it really better than a 'regular' one??
it does make my hair shinier but also greasy, I don't use them since I already have oily hairDo you have a negative ion hair dryer? Is it really better than a 'regular' one??
I got the Chi one for Christmas and I love it! It helps tame the frizzies and makes it shinier. (So much that I can even get away w/o using my straight iron.) The part I love most is it that I can blow dry my hair in half the time.
It certainly works and is not a gimmick. However, for some people it can work TOO well. My hair reacts to it by becoming overly greasy and shiny, but I have straight, soft hair to begin with. Other people I know, with curly/frizzy hair, have better reactions. My dryer has a button that you can press to turn it on or off, so I just leave it off. Look for one like that - you can try it to see how it works, and if you don't like it, just keep it off. (I got mine at JC Penny for about $20, but I've seen them in Walmart too.)

Can you give me at least 5 reasons as to why should I buy a hair dryer?

Other than drying hair what else are these things good for.... such as in everyday lifeCan you give me at least 5 reasons as to why should I buy a hair dryer?

Makes getting ready in the morning much faster!

It allows you to sleep in and not have to religiously take showers at night or hours before.

It can be used to warm you up!

It works as a straightener! Or even can curl the ends of your hair, if you brush it right!

You can dry your fingernails, paint, etc. using it.

It is a great investment! And sells itself off!
1)Straightening your hair a little faster

2)Could style your hair in different ways

    3)Give your hair more bounce

4)You can drain out any unwanted noises such as your parents fighting or stuff;)

5)If you have any wet clothes or books or anything you can use that to dry them off :P :) :-B
lol, believe it or not, it is good for at least one other thing than drying hair. If I have a little wrinkle in a blouse or slacks and don't want to break out the iron and board, I just spritz the wrinkle and use the blow dryer! Works great!!!!
    Drying paint and other liquids

Whats the best hair dryer ~拢20 you can buy?

any hair dryer will do it,s how you blow dry your hair that mattersWhats the best hair dryer ~拢20 you can buy?
You'd only get a little hairdrier for that, try and stretch to at least 拢30 for a half decent one.Whats the best hair dryer ~拢20 you can buy?
get a 25 mile taxi trip and put your head out of the window or you can get a Nicky Clarke 2200w Ionic Dryer from argos for 21.99
Try Boots (UK). Don't get one with a very high wattage as this will burn your hair. Aim for about 1800-2000watts. I'd alsoo recommend Remington, look for one with a 'cool dry' option, especially if your hair tends to be frizzy/flyaway. If you want very sleek straight hair, then get an ionic one. If you would rather lots of volume, just go for the norm.
Remington do a very good one
Dont buy hairdriers from boots argos ect if you want a good 1 go to your nearest hairdressing supply shop ie sallys or salon services there much better built to last longer and have nice long electric leads on them. I got my sister 1 once from sallys and has bought all her hairdriers from suppliers ever since.
Babyliss do a fantastic travel hairdryer called the Babyliss whisperjet travel. It is small but so powerful. It has a number of settings, has a nozzle, folds up and comes with a case and adaptor so it is brilliant for taking away. Me, my mum, my nan and my boyfriend all love it. It is only 拢15 and you can get it in boots.

Alternatively at university i have the Boots Shine On 2000w hairdyer which is also 拢15 and comes with a diffuser and a nozzle. It is also great, though a little larger and the buttons can be stiff. However if you have curly hair you might really like the diffuser.

u will need electrice converter and u can buy it from egypt and also it is very cheapI will be traveling to Egypt and want to use my hair dryer curling iron psp charger what is everything i need?
Power converter that converts 110V to 220V. That;s about all! u can find it at best buy or fry's (if ur in USA). U can also buy it from Egypt, very cheap.
nothing the hotel should give you a converter plug the 220 amp system is the same as here,
Electric converter doesn't really work for the hair dryer or curling iron. I brought mine and they were so weak with the converter, so i just went out an bought a hair dryer better.
ok, i went to isreal last spring for two weeks and i had the same question. what you have to get is this adapter outlet thing that will plug into the types of outlets they have over there in the eastern countires. i got mine at radioshack and it worked very well for all of my things. (basically everything you named) if you go to radioshack and tell one of the employees what your looking for and where your going they will help you pick out what one is right for you. thats what i did
    Don't trust no body there..!!!

If a hair dryer (plugged in) is in a bathtub. Would you rather have it filled with distilled or salt water?

distilled water since it has no electrical conducting ions present unlike salt water which has sodium and chloride present. If a hair dryer (plugged in) is in a bathtub. Would you rather have it filled with distilled or salt water?
distilledIf a hair dryer (plugged in) is in a bathtub. Would you rather have it filled with distilled or salt water?
Salt water if you are trying to electrocute yourself but keep in mind that most outlets have built-in fuses and if you fill the tub and throw in the hairdryer it will most likely just short the circuit. First of all, you need a constant source of electricity and you also need something that uses more juice (like a microwave).
    I think the most important question here is ';why is there an outlet in the bathtub?';
    Depends what outcome you desire....

    Salt water conducts electricity better
Well, if you are trying to electrocute yourself, definitely the salt water.

Using US Hair dryer in Italy?

I'm unsure of which adapter/converter to get for my vacation to Italy. I'm needing this to be able to use my hair dryer which is approx 1800-2000 watts. HELP ME PLEASE!Using US Hair dryer in Italy?
Electricity is totally different in Italy -- not only the voltage (they use 220 volts, whereas we in the US use 110) but also the shape of the wall socket (they use a round-pronged plug, whereas we use a flat-pronged one).

As such, you're going to need a plug adapter, so that your American hairdryer will fit into the plug socket. But you're also going to need a step-down power converter or transformer to convert the voltage down from 220 to 110. Hairdryers are extremely high current devices, which means that when you go shopping for your converter/transformer, you're going to need to find one with a power rating that meets or exceeds the power rating of your hairdryer.

If all this sounds confusing, you might consider contacting the property you'll be staying at in Italy and asking if they have hairdryers -- the all around simple solution would be just to leave yours at home, you see, and use theirs. (Still bring a plug adapter for other smaller devices, though; it'll come in handy for things like battery chargers.) If they DON'T offer hairdryers, you might just want to buy a small cheap one once you're actually in Italy. This saves you from having to carry around a heavy converter.

Hope this helps! Good luck with everything, and have a great trip!

--HollyUsing US Hair dryer in Italy?
Probably the adapter from Radioshack will be more expensive than a cheap Italian hairdryer.

Most hotels will have hairdryers available for the guests.

    and

    european power adapter
It's not the wattage that is important. It's the voltage. U.S. electricity is 120v/60hz. In Italy, it is 230v/50hz.

You will need both a voltage adapter and a plug adapter. (Italy has different electrical outlets than the US, so you can't just plug in a US device.) Try an electronics store such as Radio Shack. I've haven't bought these items recently, but I've had success buying them there in the past.

But using a hair dryer is bad and damaging in the long run...trust me I know

On the space shuttle, where do they have the outlets so I can plug in my hair dryer?

The plug is on the opposite wall from the 58 jet jacuzzi tub.On the space shuttle, where do they have the outlets so I can plug in my hair dryer?
On the extension cord, make sure you put a note on it that says ';DON'T UNPLUG';. It would suck to have to come all the way back to earth just to plug the cord back in because your dumb little brother pulled it out to plug in his new Wii.On the space shuttle, where do they have the outlets so I can plug in my hair dryer?
The space shuttle has no power outlets based on 120V systems. With that said, a battery-powered hair dryer would be a possibility, but as water is rationed very tightly on the shuttle (cordless tools and devices were developed, after all, for NASA and the space program), I doubt your could get your hair wet enough to justify a hair dryer.

Also, in the weightless enivronment, water is difficult to handle, astronauts wash using rinseless soap and shampoo that is rubbed into the hair and then toweled off (though they must not let loose hairs fall off the towel because that can create a safety hazard and clog filters).
You'll have to run an extension cord from earth all the way to the shuttle in space, but it would be wise to use a surge protector.
They don't, I'm afraid. You'll have to have simpler hair.

The space shuttle doesn't have a shower, anyway. You take a sponge bath, and use a rinseless shampoo. If you're really desperate to dry your hair, just float near an air vent.
I'd suspect they would have some outlets there. Otherwise, they couldn't operate the portable computers they sometimes use. It would be a simple power inverter to convert the onboard power to the outlets. Sure, they probably use batteries on the shuttle, so tap in and go!
Why would anyone bother answering this question?
They haven't yet figured how to connect the Earth wire on the space shuttle so you can't use your dryer. Get a clipper cut for that Sigourney Weaver in Alien look.

However, a hair dryer would be fun because you could use it as a mini aero-engine in zero-g and propel yourself around the engine with the air stream.
Your best bet would to bring along a car battery, and a power inverter, which will allow you to supply your own power supply.. If that is not practical for you, then I am pretty sure a common bath towel will work to get your hair dried.. Have a nice trip...
    They don't

Is it ok to dry my amozon parrot with a hair dryer

someone told me toxins come off the hair dryer, But ive already dryed her twice using one, And she loves it?Is it ok to dry my amozon parrot with a hair dryer
It's fine as long as you use it moderately. Birds are better off drying out in the sun, or just drip drying naturally. However, you can help them out a bit. The reason that hair dryers can be dangerous is that most are coated in teflon, and when overheated, teflon is fatal to birds, all birds. If you keep it about 1 foot away, move it around on a low heat and don't dry your bird completely it will be fine. On a low heat the dryer will not overheat the teflon and therefor is safe, but you should follow these guidelines. Is it ok to dry my amozon parrot with a hair dryer
Yes you can use a hair dryer with care...... I know a number of people that do this, without any problems.

The down side of doing this though... A bath/shower serves a number of purposes.

    1. Cleaning feathers

    2. Simulates preaning

    3. Provides excerise

These are only the fist things I can think of. So with all that in mind I would not recommand a hair dryer. Let them drip dry, they will spend all the time preaning and cleaning their feathers, which is never a bad thing for them to do.
Yeah I have used a blow drier on my eclectus and he loves it. Im assuming you use it on the parrot after a shower? Just be sensible with the heat settings and dont overdry them. If the setting is too hot for your hand it is too hot for the bird.

Of course, if the blow dryer has any kind of teflon product on it...it is definitetly sending off toxins.
No, don't use a hair dryer on your bird anymore. That is definitely dangerous; I know at least some of my old bird care guides stated not to use a hairdryer on a bird, and at least a couple of the bird magazines I've collected have addressed the issue too; as far as my research shows, the answer is a unanimous ';no';. I'm sure she enjoys the heat, but birds often can't tell when something is bad for them, especially if it's artificial in nature, so her behavior isn't an accurate way to judge if something is good for her or not.
No dont use a blow dryer its very bad...can kill them! (a toxin) comes off that very harmful to them they can die very easily once they inhale it theres nothing you can do...if you love this bird you wont blow dry him.

PLEASE DONT USE A HAIR DRYER!!!
No it wouldn't be advisable to use a hair dryer on a parrot, even if she does seem to like it. If you need to dry her off, you're better off taking some of the damp off her gently by hand and keeping her in a warm room.
Don't cook your parrot with it lols. If your bird isn't frightend, scared or screeching then it should be fine as long as you don't over heat your parrot. And only use it when your bird is wet.
its ok just make sure you use the low to med setting and try not to point it in her face and eyes could dry her eyes and cause problems
Yes I do this in the winter.

Whats a Hair Diffusor and a Concentrator on a hair dryer for??

Hair diffuser creates swirling airflow for fast, gentle hair drying. For instance, someone who likes to wear their hair curly, you can put mousse in it while wet and then dry it with the diffusor. The blow dryer drys the hair without blowing the curls out.

Concentrator nozzle provides pinpoint styling, control and accuracy. For example, when wanting to straighten someone's hair, a concentrator is used to direct the heat on one section of the hair.Whats a Hair Diffusor and a Concentrator on a hair dryer for??
The hair diffuser is for people with curly hair, it doesn't make the hair as frizzy when drying it. The concentrator is for people that round brush the hair, you can put the concentrator directly on the round brush without worrying that it may get too hot.

If you want to get the nice looking, modern pretty styles that you see around now, wet set your hair using either velcro or the plastic type of rollers. You can also style your hair in different ways, plus its better for your hair and the curls hold better and last a long time.

start at scalp (easier if done in sections) put tension on the hair while slowly pulling the brush through the hair...

as you are pulling with the brush, you are following with the dryer.

    Flat Iron:

    The Chi or Chi Turbo

if your hair is really easy to straighten get the turbo or you could just get the chi, but the Turbo is better for your hair, also you can by something called morrrocain oil, which is like fifty bucks but u put a little in before you blow dry or straighten you and and you never get split ends. I have been straightening my hair everyday for 3 years and the first year and a half, I never used the morrocain oil, but when I did, I got a haircut, and then I never had a split end since!

    Good Luck!

I have a small portable conair purple one, it's like conair 1800 or something. it is really quit and dries your hair smooth. I have the same problem with my hair, and I have to put water on it like every 20 minutes. I know this sounds weird, but rubbing bounce on your hair makes it un-statiky and frizzy. aveeno lotion stops it too. good luck!!

    Piper
Any hairdryer with a diffuser you can attach on the end.

This is for curly hair, which means it will dry it without making it frizzy! :)

Every hair dryer in the store is 1875 Watts but all the travel plug/wattage adapters only go up to 1600 Watts?

I'm going to England, and got an adapter to use my hair straightener and dryer, but the adapter says it only accepts wattages up to 1600. But every hair dryer I've seen is 1875 watts. Do I need to buy an adapter for higher wattages or is it better to search for a dryer with a lower wattage (do they work as well?)?Every hair dryer in the store is 1875 Watts but all the travel plug/wattage adapters only go up to 1600 Watts?
It is about the same, but the higher wattage hair dryer should dry your hair faster, so get a higher wattage adapter, or buy a dryer there.Every hair dryer in the store is 1875 Watts but all the travel plug/wattage adapters only go up to 1600 Watts?
Just don't use the highest drying temperature and your wattage will stay below 1600.
You don't say where you are from but please be aware that the nominal supply voltage in the UK is 220volts. Hope you have a great trip ;)
I honestly don't think you'll see much of a difference with a lower wattage hairdryer, but if you want to stick with the one you have, you do need to get a higher wattage adapter.

  • The least damaging hair dryer?

My hair is wavy and is very damaged. Even the most expensive Flatirons are damaging to my hair. Do you know of a blow dryer that is not damaging? The least damaging hair dryer?
I have the Conair ione shine It says its suppose to be less damaging for hair who knows but my hair does appear alot less frizzy

Also try putting coconut oil and/or oilve oil in hair every 2 weeks leave in overnight and than wash in morning both oils have done wonders for my hair shiny no frizz less frequent split ends beautiful, healthy and fuller looking hair ( have the same hair as you and it used to be damaged and frizzy now it is sleek and shiny thanks to these oils)The least damaging hair dryer?
I dont think one hair dryer is going to be easier on your hair than another. For minimum damage hold the hair dryer at least six inches from your hair and do not use excessive heat. Also, dont let your hairdresser use a razor.
i dont recomend a hair drier it has heat that dries up the hair and you want to dry you hair dry it with a towel and lety it air dry thats natrual
any blow dryer with a diffuser =]
Bio-ionic hair dryer is the best on the market. It is certifiable not only through the company but through your personal hair stylist. It uses the negative ions between your hair and the air forsed out of the dryer to improve the hair not damage. Bio-ionic also has a Japaneese Hair Straightener and a ceramic flat iron that can all be used as a system to not only straighten curly damaged hair, but to improve the health of the hair with a natural shine. Hope this helps.
The least damaging way to dry your hair is.......the wind or the blower in your car. Seriously, I have long hair and usually dry it by rolling down my car's window or aim the vent at my hair. I use a good conditioner, towel dry, and use a large detangling comb.
    Absolutely none.
They're all going to be damaging because they all use heat to dry your hair and it's the heat that damages. Also, if you rake though your hair or use the dryer every single day, expect your hair to be more damaged than if you let it air dry.
Salon 3600 Professional. It dries your hair quick, leaving it smooth and silky. It's one of the best. Good luck!
its not the dryer its he amount of heat u let come out of it... change the setting!
Its probably best to use an ionic blowdryer .. i bought one from a salon and it works well for me ..

also .. ive heard this many times.. and although its very time consuming its best to blowdry ur hair 75 percents and leave the rest to dry naturally to avoid ur hair from getting dry and or frizzy!
id go with CHI it has different hair dryer though, so go with a sensrieve one]
Ionics are supposed to be the best.
you should always condition when you wash your hair. use one of those new ionic blow dryers on medium, and put some farouk sysyem 'silk theraphy' on your dry hair twice a day. keep in mind that sun, wind, and dry weather also strip the hair so wear hats to protest the hair. oh yeah, flatiron on medium only on freshly washed and dried hair small sections at a time.
CHI products are great! Especially the hair dryer ;-)

    http://www.folica.com/CHI_Hair_D_366_1.h/a>
    wind
Ionic dryers are the least damaging. Chi is expensive for a good reason. The gemstone tourmaline is used to prevent damage to your hair when blow drying. The amount of this gemstone, tourmaline, is what costs. The cheaper ionic dryers do not have that much and when it get used up they dryer will no longer help your hair dry safely.
cut It or remove , yes.
T3 dryer is good. Also the elchem. those are the brand names.
I agree with Mona and Chi Chi.

Avoid using the iron for now. It just causes more damage to your stressed hair.
    The sun.
    natural air flow.
most hair dryers are damaging to the hair

however you can cut down on hair damage by air drying your hair.... and by using a heat protecting conditioning spray prior to using heat styling tools

    ~hope i helped
it's good with any hair dryer to start on a lower heat for about two minutes before putting it on the high heat, it damges your hair less !
Try to air dry it as much as possible. All heat (even the sun) can hurt your hair. Many companies are coming out with hair stuff you put on your hair to protect it before you blow dry.
yes i do it is a towel on your head. you know that is the comen thing you could do!and first of all nobody cares about your hair only a crazy person!!!!!!!!!!!!! of course yuo are those kinds of guys if i told you do you know a famous way to do your har well you wouldn't care .
    a broken one!
i have a nicky clarck 360 styler and it works perfectly on my hair. before i used it my hair was dry, damaged and brittle now it has a glow and bounce i love it.
Matrix has a line of product with a 4 step process for smoothing and restoring hair. Shampoo, conditioner, leave in cream and setting spray. Makes hair super soft.
    Gucci,

It's not necessarily the flatirons and the blow dryer that is the problem, you just need to use product that protect your hair from the heat! You can walk into any salon and just ask them for a product you can put on your hair to protect it from heat and styling tools. I use a serum from cat walk. I love it it smells like grapes and it protects my hair while i blow dry it and style it ALSO from UV rays from the sun! ITS GREAT!!!
Use a lot of caution when drying your hair. Try not to use the hair dryer every time if you can. Do it the old fashioned way sometimes.

Because i have a cheap hair dryer?

after i blow dry my hair, it's puffy and frizzy. i put product in it before and afterwards, but it only helps a little bit.

is it because i have a cheap blow dryer?Because i have a cheap hair dryer?
no mine gets like that too. and my blowdryer was like 100 bucks. its probably just how your hair is. just straighten it afterwards.

Does anyone know a good diffuser or hair dryer?

Find an ionic hair dryer with a lot of power. If it is a high power blow dryer you can dry it more quickly. Also the ions help smooth the cuticle and make the hair shiny.
if you a big baller check this out
The chi hair dryer. Its about 100 something. You can find it at ulta.

What cap keeps your hair dryer: Sillicone or latex?

Well, Silicone are much comfier, however because of the ridges on the latex caps, they often keep more water out. Yet, silicone caps still work, they still allow some water in. So for comfiness, silicone, but latex for dryness. What cap keeps your hair dryer: Sillicone or latex?
definitely silicone. my hair is thick and long, the silicone caps still fits my head nicely and don't slip around too much. i would recommend a silicone cap. What cap keeps your hair dryer: Sillicone or latex?
silicone usually slides right off my head. I do latex, but if you're swimming laps, there's no way to keep your hair completely dry.
silicon... neither have kept my hair dry though because i always had to wet my hair and the cap to keep them from pulling my hair but hope that helps
Well, I love my latex clothing. But, silicone will probably last longer in a pool like environment...

Which does less damage to hair.. curling iron or styling brush with hair dryer?

Just wondering to see which would be best for styling my hair.Which does less damage to hair.. curling iron or styling brush with hair dryer?
styling brush because a curling iron just adds more damaging heat to the hairWhich does less damage to hair.. curling iron or styling brush with hair dryer?
It's all damaging to your hair, but when blow drying your hair NEVER put it on full blast %26amp; ALWAYS put a heat protection product in your hair before drying it (and/or ironing it). I would suggest just blow drying your hair, with a big ceramic round brush (the heat from the dryer heats the ceramic and acts like a curling iron) .. don't blow dry soaking wet hair, dry it when it's damp and take small sections (it'll take a little longer but look better).
They both deal with heat so they can both do damage to your hair but if you condition it really well, you can use either one.
Styling with the hairdryer does less damage. I find it to be more difficult though.
As long as you wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner every 2-3 days and get it trimmed every 4-6 weeks you can do anything.

Which does more damage to my tresses: a hair dryer or a hair straightener?

Both damage your hair, however there are brands that are better for your hair than others. Most of them are rather expensive and only sold in salons or beauty supply stores.

For a hair dryer, usually the hotter the air, the worse it is for your hair. CHI makes several that are low heat but don't lack on the amount of air that flows out. I recently switched to one of these and while there is drastically less heat, my hair dries much faster. CHI is not the only one that has perfected this technique, it's just the only one I can think of off the top of my head.

On a flat iron or curling iron, find one that uses ceramic plates and has adjustable heat, then set the heat to the lowest setting that your hair will respond to.

Also, use products on your wet hair to protect from the heat of the blow dryer and some sort of heat protectant or flat iron spray to protect from the direct heat of the iron. I like Redken Align for when my hair is wet and then I switch between several products by TIGI, Bumble and Bumble and CHI for use with the flat iron. The use of products at this point in your styling process also helps out for your final look because you'll have something to help hold your style.

If money is an issue (because these products and appliances are expensive) consider trying to buy the appliances off of eBay - sometimes you will have to try through several auction/bids, but it's worth it when you pay less than half for one - just make sure you research how much one costs at salons first so you don't overpay. And for cheaper hair products, check out the discounted section in the mall salons or at your salon. Many times there is nothing wrong with the actual product, just the packaging has changed and the maker wants the new packaging on the shelf. In fact, Redken just went through a packaging change and you can still find many of their products at a discounted price.Which does more damage to my tresses: a hair dryer or a hair straightener?
A straightener does more damage to your hair because it is alot hotter %26amp; it applied directly to your hair....Which does more damage to my tresses: a hair dryer or a hair straightener?
straightener will burn any moisture out of your locks, towel dry is best
A hair straightener. As long as you are using your cool shot button on your blow dryer.
They both do drastic damage to your hair because of the heat. My advice to you, because I do this for myself, if you are going to straighten your hair, let your hair air dry first. That way your hair will not be as damaged. A good way to help fix damaged hair is Biolage Conditioning Balm. It helps alot.
Hair straighteners work by breaking down the hair's hydrogen bonds, which cause hair to bend and become curly. Once the bonds are broken, hair is prevented from holding its original, natural form.

As the people above mentioned, they both do a lot of damage. But the straightener (especially a cheaper model without a ceramic heating element) definitely does the most damage. The straighteners with ceramic heating elements do not damage the hair as much but they may cost a great deal of money, usually around $100. Some may claim to have ceramic plates when in actuality they only have a paint-like coating on the plates to give the appearance of a more expensive ceramic straightener. You may also want to talk to a professional hair stylist and ask about hair products that can help from damaging your hair (like straightening balm) if you find that you use a straightener and /or hairdryer often. Also, using an ionic hair dryer helps minimize the damage to your hair.

If you're asking this question because you have curly hair but use these items to achieve straight hair, look at the following link that shows how to use a hairdryer successfully to straighten hair with minimal damage to your hair.

    http://www.thehairstyler.com/Blow_Dry_Pr/a>

    Take care.
both do alot of damage because of the high heat....

try and use therma silk it helps get the heat out....
Hair straightener, no doubt about it.
Hair Straightener! Flat ironing causes breakage and dry ends.

    So does hair drying....

Try a straightening conditioner after shampoo.
If both (or one, really) are used everyday, then straightener. The heat is more direct to your hair, and it's continually trying to straighten it out, versus just a light blowdry (that can be changed to a warm setting instead of hot)

How do i use the cold shot button on my hair dryer? why do i need it?

The cold shot button is good for people who put leave in treatments in their hair. The regular heat allows the product to penetrate the hair better because the cuticles lift a bit. the cold shot then comes into play to seal in everything by closing down the cuticles again. How do i use the cold shot button on my hair dryer? why do i need it?
When your style has been perfected, you can lock it in place by using the cool shot button.

It does this because your hair particles close up to protect them from the cold.

Does a hair dryer contain any major pieces of aluminum in any of its parts because I want to scrap it if I can?

is there anything in the inside of the a hair dryer that is aluminum? if so whatDoes a hair dryer contain any major pieces of aluminum in any of its parts because I want to scrap it if I can?
Not likely. You'll find nichrome in the heating element, copper in the wiring and blower motor, and plastic nearly everywhere else. But toss it into a recycle bin so others can recycle its components. It would cost you more to get to a recycler than they would pay you for any materials.Does a hair dryer contain any major pieces of aluminum in any of its parts because I want to scrap it if I can?
When I go to the hair dryer store, there are about 5 to 10 models. When you think about how long hair dryers have been around, you can safely assume that there have been over 100 models of hair dryers. Undoubtedly one of those had something that was aluminum. And many probably have nothing that is aluminum. So there is no way for me to know if your hair dryer has aluminum in it. But aluminum is not generally used for electrical purposes in consumer products, so if your hair dryer does have aluminum, it is probably a structural component. But the only possibly way to find out is to take it apart. But I would guess the copper in it will be more valuable.
Well I most certainly have to give you kudos for that question! I do not have an answer for you, sorry but I am sure you will get an informed answer soon.

Is it a bad idea to wash hair alternating day. I dont use conditioner i also dry my hair with a hair dryer.?

i wash TUESDAY, THURSDAY,SUNDAYIs it a bad idea to wash hair alternating day. I dont use conditioner i also dry my hair with a hair dryer.?
You're OK. You don't have to wash it all week if you don't want to. Just don't do it everyday.

    1x or 2x is best.

You'll feel it softer, and shinier and it's healthier for the hair.

I never use conditioner on my hair, we have soft water, my hair is not damaged. You comb/brush your hair when it's wet, that's how your hair breaks and causes hair to split. Brush it only when it's 100% dried, and 5 mins. blow dried and concentrate on just the roots. Is it a bad idea to wash hair alternating day. I dont use conditioner i also dry my hair with a hair dryer.?
    good hair routine:

timing: tuesday, thursday and sundday. also whenever else needed.

condtioner: YES/if you use a hairdryer then use tresemme with heat defence to protect your hair.

drying. towel dry 70% (pat don't rub) then blowdry it afterwards stopping prolonged heat damage

    x
wash your hair when it needs to be washed and try to wash it every other day it keeps it from getting split ends and why dont you use conditioner?! use it it'll keep your hair smooth and untangled
Don't wash your hair everyday, wash it every other day. Use conditioner, leave it in for two minutes and towel dry or use a product that protects your hair from heat (Tres Semme).
I would try to wash it less frequently than that, e.g., twice a week or less, otherwise it will get dry/split.

Yes it will. Most hotels have 110 current supplies. Don't worry, Costa Rica has all the things the US has, and maybe even more.

Pura vida!Costa Rica: will my hair dryer work there?
    The short answer is YES....

    ...BUT...

It depends where you stay as well, although the outlets and voltage is the same as in the USA, the place you are staying might have very outdated electric and might not have enough capacity to power the hair dryer without blowing fuses or circuit breakers... if you are staying at a descent hotel you will be fine, but if you are going to be way outside of larger towns staying at some old hole in the wall, you could have a problem.
Yes, it will work. You don't need an adapter
Don't most hotels supply them? If you are staying in a hotel just use theirs.
    hello

    you do need an adapter.

please that out outlets are difference you may need to bring you own one, if you are staying in some small hotels, they may not have one

    A chi flat iron
A flat iron (hair straightener) usually works pretty well. If you're using a standard flat iron, don't do it directly after blow drying your hair, or if you have to, use a heat resistant spray. The best thing to do is to get a flat iron that you can use on wet hair like Remington's Wet 2 Straight.
The flat iron itself makes your hair silkier, it seals the cuticale!!
use a flat iron. The best one is called a Superstar.
Use a flat iron. But make sure it's a ceramic flat iron.

THANKS FOR YOU HELP! XWhats the best hair dryer with a diffuser i can buy ?
The dryer you seek is the Flugelmeister 6000. It is the only dryer that has recorded an 8.25 second standardised drying time, long considered the holy grail of follicular dehydration thermodynamics. The story behind the machine is even more inspiring. In 1952, an ex-Nazi electronic engineer, Gerhard von Flugelmeister III locked himself in a basement for 3 months with the sole purpose of creating the World's Best hair dryer. It is rumored that during this period he even resorted to drinking his own urine (distilled), however that is beyond the scope of this forum. Suffice to say, that if you can find the 6000 you will have to be willing to part with at least $25; $30 for an example in pristine condition. Availability of the special mix rocket fuel required is also limited.

Why is my ps3 making a like low hair-dryer sound and the fan on the back is blowing really hot air fast is it?

messed up should i turn it offWhy is my ps3 making a like low hair-dryer sound and the fan on the back is blowing really hot air fast is it?
well i would just let it cool off for a while it does that when it gets hot or something hits itWhy is my ps3 making a like low hair-dryer sound and the fan on the back is blowing really hot air fast is it?
Nah the PS3 can get a bit warm yes but if you have enough space around it. It can get rid of the warm air and replace it with cooler air.

The PS3 is made to function silently and it's cooling is made to aid in that. It uses a very big internal fan and heatpipes. Yes obviously a device that [based upon energy needs of a FAT ps3] uses 200w will generate some heat.

But it is very much in control, unless of course you cram it between your dvd/game collection in a small storage space. Then it can't get rid of the heat and it might overheat.
Well it sorta goes by if you've had the Ps3 on for a while it could just be heating up but it might also be some dust in the fan i recommend blowing a little bit in there and if dust comes out you might wanna try to blow it out with air duster or just your own air =)

Tips for using this hair dryer?

I use the Tigi Bed Head Light Me Up Hair Dryer.Tips for using this hair dryer?
If you are Caucasian, Native American, Hispanic or Asian with straight, curly, or wavy hair, flip your hair upside down (bend down and look between your legs) and dry your hair. It will add volume to your hair.

If you are African American and want to keep your hair less frizzy, use a diffuser (ask the salesperson at the store you got you hair dryer at) on your blow dryer. This thing with lighten the flow of air from your blow dryer.

I hope these tips help. Have a great life, since I probably won't ever talk 2 u again!Tips for using this hair dryer?
To add more volume you should always make sure you dry your roots first before you dry the rest, it helps with volume. If you put the product onto your root then blow dry you will keep your style all day..

  • Calculate the cost of using a hair dryer?

the cost of one unit of electricity is 8p

the hair dryer uses 1800 watts

the sheet says total cost = number of kilowatts hours x cost per killowatt hour

do not work out just tell me what i should do

so then i learn something out of thisCalculate the cost of using a hair dryer?
You're missing one critical piece of information: how long is the hair dryer being used?

Electric usage is measured in kilowatt-hours.

1 kilowatt-hour is the equivalent of 1000 watts for 1 hour.

Three values are needed to calculate the cost to use an appliance:

The power rating or wattage of the appliance. This is found on the appliance e.g. 50W or 1800W.

The time the appliance is switched on in hours (or minutes 梅 60)

    The cost per KWh.

    1. Appliance wattage 梅 1000 = kilowatts (kW)

In your problem, we know this is 0.18 (1800 / 1000)

    2. Kilowatts 脳 (time appliance is switched on in hours) = kilowatt hours (kWh)

We don't know the time the appliance is switched on; call it h (in hours). So kilowatt hours = 0.18*h

    3. Kilowatt hours x cost per KWh is what you pay for that appliance to run.

Your problem says the cost of one unit of electricity is 8p - is that the cost per kilowatt hour?

If so, then your total cost is 0.18*h*8p or (1.44*h)p. So running the hair dryer for an hour would cost 1.44pCalculate the cost of using a hair dryer?

If you get side bangs, will you need to use the hair dryer everyday?

I'm going to get a hair cut and I don't want to waste too much time in the morning before school drying my hair. So would I have to dry my hair everyday if I got side bangs like this?

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e52/vi/a>If you get side bangs, will you need to use the hair dryer everyday?
It depends on your hair. I have to because I have a cowlick and have to blow dry it while it's wet or my hair won't stay in a side part. But I know that some people don't have to blow dry it and it looks fine. You could experiment with your hair by just parting it on the side (before you get it cut) like it would be if you had side bangs, and see how it does when you let it dry on its own. If it lies flat and looks nice, chances are it would be fine without blow drying it in the morning. If you get side bangs, will you need to use the hair dryer everyday?
Hey, I just got side bangs for me! (they look great on big forheads!) but I have wavy hair and when they're dry, I use a flat iron that smoothes them out and looks awesome.

Good luck and the ashley pic is really cute. (if you need anymore ideas, google ';hilary duff'; she has the best bangs!)
no at least i don't if u use got to be glued that is the best hairspray
no, but it would make them look just like Ashley's.... If you do, which would most likely be best, use a thin round brush as you blow out two inch sections at a time.

Can someone explain how to use the diffuser on my hair dryer?

If you have one that looks kind of netted, then just put it over the top of the hair dryer and dry your hair with the dryer facing south, making the air flow downward.

If you have one that looks like a cone sort of, with the crosshatch shape where the air comes out, then hold the dryer north and pile your hair on top of the diffuser (can be from the side of your hair or the bottom, either works.)Can someone explain how to use the diffuser on my hair dryer?
I read this on an eHow article, diffusers are used for blowouts. If you dont know how to attatch it, its really easy, you just clip it into the end of your blow dryer. You want to use a paddle brush to get straight hair, or a round brush for voluminous.

1.) Wash hair, and put in leave-in conditioner or smoothing serum throughout wet hair.

2.)Clip hair up to top of head, dividing it into four sections. Start with the underneath layers.

3.) Blow dry your hair, and as you blow dry it, brush through your hair with the round or flat brush. Make sure you blow dry it as close as possible.

4.) Go through each section, and use the blue Cool Shot button for a blast of cool air once you're done. Brush through hair.

Hope I helped. =]Can someone explain how to use the diffuser on my hair dryer?
The way I was told is you put it on the end of the blow dryer (where the air comes out of) then you blow dry the same way as you normally do. All it claims to do different is to give more body but I am not so sure that is does.

Has anyone used a sunbeam nutrihair hair dryer??

i am thinking of getting one, as my current one caught on fire (and it was a good one from a hairdresser that i bought a few years back).... is the nutrihair any good?Has anyone used a sunbeam nutrihair hair dryer??

    Hair Dryer Melted to Couch?

I was drying my hair with a plastic type hooded hair dryer.

I tried to pick it up and found out that it was actually melted to my couch.

I have no idea how to get it off without making a hole.

    Anything I can do?

If I do make a hole is there anything I can do?Hair Dryer Melted to Couch?
If it was the unit itself there is not anything you can do. If it's just the plastic hood that melted, let it harden and then gently try to pull it off. That's if it's not a leather couch. But even if it's a leather one it still may come off once hardened. If it has soaked into the material,I can't see where anything would remove it. Good luck.Hair Dryer Melted to Couch?
OMG.....damn I don't think anything is going to stop it from making a hole in the couch .......just shut it off and let it cool down and see where that takes you but honestly i think your outta luck especially if it was a leather couch

If a hair dryer is rated at 1500 W, how much energy does it require in 5 minutes?

    a.300 J

    b.1500 J
