Is 1200 watts too low for a hair dryer?

I am looking at buying a 1200 watt hair dryer. Do you think it's too low to get the job done? Am I better staying with higher voltage one, like 1800?Is 1200 watts too low for a hair dryer?
It will just take longer to dry your hair with 1200 watts. I bought an 1875 watt dryer, and to me it still takes too long.Is 1200 watts too low for a hair dryer?
Mine is only 625 watts and has served me well for over 20 years. It does get hot enough to burn yourself, so I don't see the point in getting anything hotter. It has lots of speed. While you can get something faster and hotter, you need to work very fast to prevent burns. For the average person, I would think that 1200 is plenty of power to do the job.

As I've said many times, it's not the equipment that is good or bad but the operator that makes it so. If a good tool is in the hands of an incompetent person, it's of no use and can do a lot of damage. But even a poor piece of equipment, in the hands of a qualified person, can perform adequately. But I am more cautious since I have seen a lot of damage done by implements that were too hot, and I would rather use something that was a bit safer.

The final decision, of course, is up to you.
I would use 1800 or higher, especially if you blow dry your hair straight.
